Corp Sayvee Daily Food For Thought (CSDFFT) Chapter 3.2 Everyone has experienced the Grace of God countless times, we usually fail to pay particular attention to it. All those moments that things got done without we knowing how it happened, are instances where God’s Grace manifested. Times are had but you survive each day, it is just by Grace. #knowledgesharing #problemiswealth #deepthinking #SDG17partnershipforthegoals

Like 🍰 read on. We love bees and we love sugary things too. For most people the connection between sugar production and bees 🐝 is lost when faced with a delicious dessert 🧁. As some of you might know, Keele and Rothamsted are challenged with producing one of the worlds most difficult biological forecasts - the BBRO virus yellows forecast that aims to reduce the prophylactic use of insecticides across 100,000 hectares of land. Before any seed has been planted, before any aphid vector has flown, we must make a prediction as to what the virus yellows incidence will be in August. Super, super challenging and especially so when climate change is throwing meteorological curve balls after the forecast has been issued. Cold right now? Guess what none of us saw it coming and tbh we thought that the predicted strong El Niño effect would have produced an unprecedented warm winter and though February was very warm, the season was not supercharged as predicted. See the challenge?! Warm winters drive early flight of the aphid vector. Cold springs slow aphid migration. It’s that simple at the start of the season. You may have seen the Countryfile program at the weekend that did so well to capture the views of key stakeholders, but it forgot one vital component - US! You, me and everyone who eats sugar -we are driving the system through demand and we must take ultimate responsibility for our actions as sugar consumers. If you want to help nature, you can still enjoy the treats, but link them to what happens in a farmers field. The NHS estimates 700g a of sugar a week is consumed pp in the UK. Wow! Do we, should we, must we eat that much? https://lnkd.in/euYuQ9RX Farmers aren’t to blame, like anyone else they can’t make a loss just because we want to eat 🍰 When virus incidence caused some farmers to lose half a million quid in 2020 due to virus yellows, you can see why treatment reduces risks and anxiety for those growers who are locked into a contract.
