McIntosh et al., conducted out of Dr Michael D Roberts' labs at Auburn University, observed that trained male and female runners maintained plasma electrolytes more effectively and experienced markedly reduced cramping and cramp severity in response to consuming a sugar-free Amino Acid Powered XTEND Healthy Hydration beverage vs consuming Gatorade Thirst Quencher or a positive control (Water). This acute response study employed a randomized, blinded, controlled, crossover design.
Banks et al., conducted out of Dr Nathaniel DM Jenkins' labs at the University of Iowa, observed that whereas Monster Energy significantly reduced the use of fat for fueling exercise under semi-fasted states and also did not improve VO2peak, ventilatory threshold, or muscular performance during a fatiguing bout in trained males, C4 Energy was instead able to maintain maximal fat oxidation rates to support exercise under semi-fasted conditions; and, C4 Energy significantly (p<0.05) improved relative VO2peak and oxygen utilization efficiency at ventilatory threshold (VO2 @ VT), versus Placebo. Plus, C4 Energy significantly increased the muscle force generating capacity performed during a muscle fatiguing bout, compared to Placebo. This acute response study employed a randomized, blinded, controlled, crossover design.
Published manuscripts, like commercialized finished products, are what most people see as scientific productivity. Not as obvious, for example, is that we completed four (4) additional IRB-approved studies in 2023, have already completed one (1) IRB-approved study in 2024, our Bentonville, AR based Nutrabolt Laboratory, located within the University of Health and Performance campus, became operational in 2023, our Austin, TX based Nutrabolt Laboratory, located within our new Nutrabolt headquarters will be completed within months, we are in our 2nd year of funding the Nutrabolt Molecular & Applied Sciences Laboratories, at Auburn University, etc, etc, etc... and, I'm just getting started.

9moVery interesting! In 2022, the Sutehall et al. meta-analysis of 10 studies revelead no difference between sodium alginate and pectine added beverage, compared to « traditional” beverage on CHO oxidation and blood glucose concentration. They were inconclusive regarding GI disorders. What is the difference in your opinion between the beverage in this study, and the one on the ten included on the meta-analysis, that could lead to such difference in the results?
