This is not just any other Cartoon. It’s massive, it's unusual for a Republic. Raises serious questions on the (ought to be) powerful, but impotent, Politician-Executive-Police devoir towards the control of Law, Crime & the Criminals. These nefarious prisoners pose a brazen challenge to an entire machinery of Law enforcers. Look at the tenacity of the Gang, they are repeated offenders & avow to take lives of prominent citizens, that too in broad daylight. Their Bosses (the Prison officers), who are supposed to be smarter than these Criminals, face subjugation or almost pretend to be. The prowess of Law vis-a-vis the State & Citizens stands ridiculed. #LawAndOrder #GovernanceChallenges #JusticeSystem #PublicSafety #RuleOfLaw #Law #Lawyers #Lawstudent #Justice #Judiciary

A magistrate's disbelief in a prison guard's report of a convicted juvenile offender's threat to stab him and spray him with urine highlights a deeper issue within the judiciary: activist judges who seem disconnected from the harsh realities faced by those maintaining order in prisons. This highlights the necessity of equipping prison guards with body cameras to protect them from dangerous individuals and safeguard against questionable ethics and competence of judicial representatives. The leniency shown by these activist judges contributes to a disconnect from societal norms, as it not only fails justice but also catalyzes continued crime. The recurrent nature of these crimes should potentially place these judges on trial for criminal negligence or as accessories to the crimes facilitated by their decisions. This situation calls for a reevaluation of the judiciary to uphold the law and protect society, rather than perpetuating a cycle of crime and ineffectiveness. #crime #justice #prisons #Judicialactivism #socialdisconnect #mercy #cruelty

Fatherlessness is an issue deeply connected to crime rates. Data shows that fatherless children are 20x more likely to be incarcerated. After working with numerous incarcerated men, we’ve learned that many lacked a positive father figure. That is why the Jack Brewer Foundation has implemented faith-based prison programs like our Faith and Fatherhood Initiative, so that we may illuminate for these men the importance of fatherhood and give them the tools to break these generational cycles. https://lnkd.in/e3xvU4v4

This day 33 years ago, the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody released its Final Report with 339 recommendations. The criminal justice system has long been a site of systemic injustice for First Peoples. There is an unbroken line between the criminalisation of First Peoples’ resistance to dispossession at colonisation and the actions, laws and policies in the current criminal justice system. Now is the time for change. #CriminalJusticeSystem #Truthtelling #FirstPeoples
