Today at the Kaskaskia College Apprenticeship Forum, A representative from the Illinois Department of Commerce presented a copy of the Governor’s proclamation to Velocity Metalworks as one of the states 1,600 industry partners for Registered Apprenticeships. Bryan McIntosh (Director of Operations) and Kayla Duncan (HR Manager) were in attendance to accept the award.

One of my favourite highlights from the report, "Teaching staff are highly experienced in the industries in which they teach. They use their experience to provide apprentices with a sound knowledge of the industries in which they work. As a result, apprentices gain substantial new knowledge and skills that help them to excel in job roles and prepare effectively for promoted posts at work. Apprentices state they are enthused and inspired to learn." Great news for our apprenticeship offering which has been rated ‘good’ in our first full inspection from Ofsted. The Ofsted report praised our teaching quality, highly experienced staff and support for apprentices, and recognised that apprentices gain substantial new skills and knowledge to help them excel in the workplace.
