We explored finds from our 2024 State of Nordic PR & Communication rapport with engaging and insightful discussions, with both our guests and amazing panel (Erik Waatland, Anne-Lise Mørch von der Fehr, Andreas Nyheim & Hilde Tunge) 🚀 ✨ Our discussion dug into key topics like: 💡 The changing role of communicators in navigating a socially divided landscape. 💡 Shifts in the identity of communication professionals and how it affects our work. 💡 Understanding the essential role communicators play within organizations.

We asked Charles Skinner, member of communication committee: “What is the responsibility of the public relations industry in green communication and why do you think it is important to reward public relations projects?” “Environmental challenges form the most serious threat faced by Planet Earth. It is a threat that potentially affects every human and every other living organism and it knows no boundaries. That is why the public relations industry must use every capability, skill and creativity to communicate with individuals, businesses, charities, governments, and of course the media. To do so we must use long-term strategy with measurable and achievable outcomes. This is a time for integration and to use the classic building block approach that helps to deliver incremental change that people can see making a difference and so be inspired to do more. Understanding the cause of problems is essential in finding cures and helping individuals and organizations to act on them. Simon K., having recently completed a Specialist Diploma in Sustainable Communications with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, hosted a Lunch 'n' Learn on Friday to update the rest of the team about the latest trends and best practices in sustainable communication strategies. We learnt about how we can incorporate his insights into Nielsen McAllister and expand our offerings to clients to help them navigate changing regulations and consumer preferences. The dress code for this? Green, of course. However, few got the memo. #sustainability
