How Micromanagement Led Me to My Dreams ⤵ I know the title sounds crazy, but hear me out. When people think of micromanagement, it’s usually linked to employee disengagement, job dissatisfaction, and even lost productivity. I experienced all of that firsthand. But here’s why it worked for me. At the time, I wasn’t 100% clear on what I wanted out of my career. Then came the micromanagement, and I suddenly knew exactly what I didn’t want. It became my catalyst for discovering what I did want. Sometimes, knowing what you don’t want is enough to spark clarity. Here’s how I identified what I do want: → Set boundaries early: Micromanagement taught me the importance of personal boundaries, something I now protect fiercely. → Define my passion: Realising what drained me led me to focus on the tasks and projects that fuel my passion. → Leverage discomfort for growth: Instead of resisting, I used the discomfort to refine my goals and push myself toward my dreams. Micromanagement isn’t always a death sentence for your career it can be the wake-up call you need. What’s been your biggest career revelation? Everyone needs to be micro managed once in their life, just to understand you don't want it.
That's beautiful you have discovered that for yourself When we are micromanaged by others, its not worthy When done by us on ourselves we can see exceptional results
This is often the problem people face when making a career change. This idea of "it's not so bad". When it's bad you know exactly what you don't want and it drives action.
This is great. In the end, it’s the intentional ones who win.
