Slash Fintech Limited has been selected to participate in Uniswap-Arbitrum Grant Program #UAGP, a 6-month grant program fueling projects of two leading ecosystems. Its objective is to foster growth and advance projects that build exclusively within the Uniswap-Arbitrum ecosystem, with a focus on long-term benefits. It was created by a proposal from Areta to leverage #Uniswap’s allocation of #ARB tokens intended to enhance the Uniswap ecosystem within The Arbitrum Foundation Protocol. Slash Payment started supporting Arbitrum in November 2023, and has been promoting #ecosystem collaboration, such as holding an #AMA with Arbitrum Japan. Back in 1999, I recognised the immense potential of the Internet—a global network of networks—as the "operating system" for future applications that would be built on top of it. By the mid-2000s, I foresaw rising geopolitical tensions that could drive some countries to break away from the global Internet, attempting to create their own isolated networks. Anticipating this threat, my team at Multiven Group and I took decisive action to safeguard the Internet's unity, both technologically and legally. To secure the Internet technologically, in 2006 I established a private, socio-intellectual network. I invited 1,000 of the world's brightest minds in Internet engineering, security research, and cryptography to join. Among them was Hal Finney, the legendary creator of #Bitcoin and inventor of blockchain technology, who signed on as member number 62. This elite group pooled their expertise to make the Internet more robust and efficient, laying the groundwork for innovations like today's social networks, search engines, AI, blockchain, and DeFi. In December 2008, we took a second step to protect the integrity of the Internet—initiating legal action that helped secure its future. During this litigation in 2010, I envisioned a more inclusive way for people to transact online, leading to the inception of Boom. The litigation ended successfully, and over the following decade, Boom evolved into a comprehensive DeFi ecosystem. Today, it serves as a global payment and settlement system, enabling online commerce to thrive without reliance on traditional banks. With Boom, even the 1.7 billion adults who previously lacked access to the global financial system can now engage in the digital economy, transacting in their local currencies. All of this has been made possible thanks to the visionary blockchain technology invented by Hal Finney and brought to life through the Boom ecosystem, unlocking economic potential for people worldwide.
