📢 New Research Highlights Key Factors Driving Corporate Climate Action! 🌍 A study analyzing over 4,000 corporate emission targets reveals that 55% of companies are on track to meet their goals, while 30% are increasing emissions since their base year. Progress is tied to factors like having #absolutetargets, #longertimeframes, and linking #remuneration to climate-related issues. Ambitious goals tend to lag unless backed by #ScienceBasedTargets. Clearer policies are needed to inform better #ESGinvestors from misleading climate targets #Sustainability #ClimateAction #CorporateResponsibility

At COP29, Climate TRACE co-founders Al Gore and Gavin McCormick presented the latest innovations in data and technology. For the first time in history, this collaboration provides monthly emissions data for every country and every major individual source of emissions in the world. Climate TRACE has now compiled monthly emissions inventories for every state and province, every county, and more than 9,000 major urban areas around the world, providing subnational governments with critical information to accelerate climate action. These urban areas account for 17 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), or more than 25% of global emissions. In another technological breakthrough, Climate TRACE now tracks key non-GHG air pollutants for the world’s largest single point sources of emissions, including pollutants that are implicated in millions of deaths around the world every year. #climatetech #climatesolutions #innovations #breakthroughs #measurewhatmatters #climatedata #openarchitecture #standards

In a world that’s grappling with the increasing effects of climate change, the urgency to cut carbon emissions is at an all-time high. Businesses have a special responsibility to drive change by decarbonization; this means addressing emissions across the value chain. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions are classified into Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions), and Scope 3. Among these, Scope 3 emissions are both the largest and most elusive. Why? WRI research reveals critical gaps in how countries approach climate action. While electric vehicles and public transport consistently get attention, high-impact areas are overlooked, including: ❌ Air travel (2.5% of global CO2) ❌ Food systems (73% potential emissions reduction) ❌ Consumer behavior change Our analysis shows that most countries are using just one tool - ignoring key behavior changes that could unlock deeper emissions cuts. Discover how countries can better harness behavior change to meet climate goals: https://bit.ly/3zZYIju #ClimateAction #sustainability #BehaviorChange #CleanEnergy #emissions #ClimatePolicy #NetZero
