2024: The Year Transformation Became My Superpower 💡 When I joined Boehringer Ingelheim in February 2024, I knew change was coming. What I didn't expect was how profoundly that change would reshape my perspective on HR, teamwork, and personal growth. Stepping into this role wasn't just a job change—it was a masterclass in embracing new challenges. This year taught me that professional growth is about connection, not just credentials. Three moments that truly defined my journey: 1. New Beginnings at Boehringer Ingelheim "I'm happy to share that I'm starting a new position as Sr. Specialist, Employee Central at Boehringer Ingelheim!" https://lnkd.in/gKj8GYsf This post wasn't just an announcement—it was the start of an incredible adventure. The warmth of my new team made transitioning feel less like starting a new job and more like joining a professional family. 2. Team Dynamics and Our "Fruity" Engagement "Our unique strengths contribute to a thriving organization" https://lnkd.in/gCBz9UxU Remember our "Go, Grow, Glow" nutrition month activity? Beyond the fun, it revealed something powerful: diverse personalities are an organization's greatest asset. From our "Fruity Patootie" game to matching baby pictures, we proved that engagement isn't about perfection—it's about connection. 3. Reflections on Smooth Transitions "Being welcomed so warmly by the team has made the transition incredibly smooth" https://lnkd.in/gH3GDi-2 Transition is an art. And this year, I learned that the right team can transform a professional shift from daunting to extraordinary. Looking ahead to 2025, I'm committed to continuing this journey of growth, innovation, and human-centered HR. To my colleagues at Boehringer Ingelheim and my previous teams: thank you for being the incredible co-authors of this professional chapter. #LinkedInRewind #2024Wrapped

Reflections on Leaf Nation and Healthcare 2024: 🌟 Potential: A Tale of Transformation in Sports and Healthcare 🌟 🏒🌿 The Leafs: A team fueled by talent, yet their journey to greatness remains elusive. They skate on the edge of potential, tantalizing fans with glimpses of brilliance. But what holds them back? Is it strategy, mindset, or something deeper? 🌡️🏥 Healthcare Organizations: Representing a powerhouse of healthcare professionals with knowledge and compassion. Yet, our system clings to outdated practices, leaving patients yearning for timely, seamless experiences. How do we bridge the gap between potential and reality? 🚀 The Parallel: The Leafs and healthcare face a common challenge—modernization, strategy, and effectiveness. Here’s the playbook: 1) Shift the Mindset: Like Stanley Cup winners, change begins with belief in oneself, others, and leadership. Let’s reimagine healthcare as a dynamic, supportive ecosystem where innovation thrives and collaboration reigns. Doctors, nurses, midwives and administrators—together! Your collaboration and leadership are the key to our success in modernization. 2) Strategic Breakaway: Set a clear path and define goals. The Leafs chase the Stanley Cup, and healthcare aims for patient-centric excellence. Let’s align our strategies, break from inertia, and surge forward with skills-based, collaborative Leadership. 3) Digital Powerplay: Technology is our secret weapon. Telemedicine, AI tools and diagnostics, data-driven decisions—the Leafs analyze stats; we analyze health trends. Let’s score big with a meaningful digital transformation. Imagine the possibilities of improved healthcare efficiency and effectiveness with these advancements. 4) Fan Engagement: Patients are our fans. They deserve personalized experiences. As Leaf’s fans cheer at every goal, let’s celebrate each patient—and provider-centred transformative innovation with investment and support. 🌟 Call to Action: Let’s lace up our skates, healthcare warriors! The puck is in our zone. Modernization and a purposeful strategic vision are not luxuries but our duty. We’ll raise “the Cup” of Innovation, enjoy our daily work, and transform lives. Populate the OMA with visionary, strategic, skills-based leadership so that our Healthcare system can be “built for the playoffs." 🔗 Join the conversation! 🙌 #HealthcareTransformation #MapleLeafs #Inspiration #ModernizationMatters

Today could be the day YOU make a decision to start a Gratitude movement in your company, on your team, or even in your family. No approval or permission is needed to start. All that’s needed is: 1) make a decision and 2) take action (do something) to start telling people I appreciate you — who you are: the gifts, talents, and abilities you have and the difference you make for me and others. It’s amazing how this (the Ripple Effect) that Koen Neels mentioned works and how simple it is to share a message of gratitude and appreciation. Recognize the truth of what William James observed, “The deepest principle of human nature is the craving to be appreciated.” You can start now. As a sole contributor, you can express gratitude and appreciation to the people you interact with. As a team member, you can send messages of gratitude and appreciation to people on the team…or on other teams that support your team. As a leader (of a team, workgroup, or company) what would happen if YOU started your next meeting by expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation to the people on your team? Join the movement! Tell someone I’m Grateful For You!! #gratefulleader #gratitudeambassador #powerofgratitude

**✖️The ripple effect✖️** One day, I made the decision to launch “Mission Gratitude”. 🎯Target: 👉🏼 13,000 Zimmer Biomet employees worldwide 🥅Objective: 👉🏼Foster a culture of appreciation and gratitude at ZB Sounds impossible? Think again. Have you heard of the Ripple Effect? Here’s how it works: You show appreciation to just 5 colleagues in a week, you make at least 6 people happier (your 5 colleagues plus yourself!). Week2: Those 6 do the same —> 36 happy. Week 3: 216 Week 4: 1,296 Week 5: 7,776 Week 6: 🎯reached All it takes is one simple action. Be grateful. Show appreciation to the people around you. Encourage them to do the same, and watch the ripple effect of positivity spread. To every ZB employee: Today is the perfect day to start. Let’s make our workplace a more appreciative and connected environment. And to everyone else reading this: Today is your day too. Embrace gratitude and appreciation in your life—let’s make a difference together! It’s a choice you make 🫵🏻 #MissionGratitude #Gratitude #SayThankYouMoreOften

Time has a remarkable way of flying by, especially when you're immersed in a role that challenges and inspires you. As I celebrate my one-year anniversary back at Kaiser Permanente (9 years in total), I find myself reflecting on this past year’s transformation—not just professionally, but personally. Transitioning from one industry to another is rarely easy. It requires resilience, an openness to learning, and a willingness to embrace new challenges. For me, returning to healthcare, particularly in talent acquisition, meant stepping into a matrixed environment that balances the demands of patient care with the complexities of organizational growth. But these challenges have shaped me into a more empathetic leader, one who values not only the systems we work within but the people driving those systems. Perhaps one of the most profound changes this past year has brought is a shift in my perspective on what truly matters. Prioritizing self-care and finding a sustainable work-life balance aren’t just buzzwords at Kaiser Permanente—they’re woven into the fabric of our leadership philosophy. I’ve had the privilege of working with leaders who don’t just talk about professional development but encourage it in ways that foster real growth and renewal. The result? I’ve not only grown in my role but also found a renewed sense of purpose. I’m proud to be part of a team that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, a company that believes in developing its people as much as its processes. If this past year has taught me anything, it’s that when we find environments where our values align, we thrive—not just in our careers, but in our lives. Here’s to one year down and many more to come. If you’re navigating a career shift, know that it’s possible to find both success and balance in the right environment. Thank you, Kaiser Permanente, for making this journey so rewarding. Shout out to my team: Peggy Vaughan, Garine Karen Gilabochian, Steve Reinhard, Shalah Smith, MBA, Kathi Athey, my leadership homies David Roberts, MBA, Lyn Scott, Rhonda Zancanelli, Michelle P. Martinez, John Marquez, CIR, Tonya Haddad, PMP, and my fearless leaders Baljit Pegany, Matthew Stege and Mark Johnson. #appreciateya #CareerGrowth #Leadership #KaiserPermanente #OneYearAnniversary

Moving On From Success: Embracing New Challenges and Growth It’s never easy to move on when you're winning and achieving your target goals at work. In 2023, I made the bold decision to leave a role where I was experiencing significant success. At one of ChenMed’s centers in South Chicago's Jeffery Manor neighborhood, we accomplished what many thought was impossible. When I took over, the center was ranked last in the market with an Ava score of -120. By the end of Q4 2022, we turned things around by 100 points, reaching -20. We also reduced hospital admissions by 50% on a rolling 30-day basis, employee turnover went from 70% to under 35% and the center soared to the top of the Chicago market for key KPIs that the organization measured. In April 2023, I was honored with the Center Executive Director of the Year award. Despite these accolades, I craved further growth and new adventures. I decided to move into private equity, focusing on healthcare and overseeing a diverse portfolio across multiple verticals, including home health, dental, and congregate care living. Over the past year, I have grown leaps and bounds, though it hasn’t been comfortable or easy. Now, I find myself at another intersection, ready to embrace my next challenge. Stay tuned for more updates as my journey continues and I embark on my toughest battle yet. #CareerGrowth #NewAdventures #Leadership #Healthcare #Achievement #PrivateEquity #PersonalDevelopment #StayTuned Like , ♻️, and follow as I continue this exciting adventure called life!

In the next week, I will mark a significant turning point in my career journey. We all have experienced selecting a role that is not an exac fit, joining a lineage of talented individuals who have encountered similar situations during their career. Over the past couple months, the process of reflecting on a transition has been full of highs and lows, encouraging and distressing but at the end incredibly profound. It reminds me that even with an exhaustive due diligence, a single decision point doesn't always equate to an alignment with what you believe are your mission, vision and values. While I understand the business aspect, it's essential to acknowledge the personal impact and the power of professional and personal connections. Comprehending the career diversion and the business rationale, the profound personal impact has been extraordinary. Being able to take the time necessary to research, spend time in prayer and reflection, and access to the counsel of trusted colleagues and friends, I’m reminded of the intricate balance between professional commitment, personal commitment and overall personal well-being and how that must align to create a work-life balance. Finding a place that is committed to being transformational in the healthcare delivery model through the pharmacy benefit management (PBM) element has been incredibly refreshing. At AffirmedRx, a Public Benefit Corporation, the mission is clear: to champion transparency, patient-centric care and innovative solutions in an industry often plagued by opacity and complexity. We are leading through authenticity and humility, fostering a model focused on integrity and empowerment. I am very excited and will be sharing more and invite you to join us on our journey towards a healthier, more informed pharmacy benefits experience and delivering the care that all Americans deserve… “The time is always right to do what is right.” - Dr. Martin Luther King

I did a thing... As part of my growth mindset journey, I volunteered to host a panel on Coming Out In the Workplace. Even though I put myself forward, it was still daunting—and yes, we even had a technical glitch! 😅 But the experience was so worth it. What made it even more special? This was a cross-company panel, bringing together MSD, Boston Scientific, Terumo Medical Corporation and Medtronic to unite for a common cause. 🌍🏳️🌈. And we can say it was a success, counting more than 400 participants (did I mention I was nervous, imaging seeing those numbers rack up during the introduction...) At one point, I joked about it being like Batman, Wolverine, Superman, and Wonder Woman are teaming up...and I guess I got to be Harley Quinn, the quirky sidekick for the day! 🦸♀️ A bit unconventional, sure, but always ready to dive into the action! I’m also incredibly grateful for the constant support from my Pride Europe & Beyond ERG at Medtronic. Their unwavering cheering helps me take on bigger challenges and make an even bigger splash when it comes to advocacy. 💖 Key takeaways: 1️⃣ Coming out at work isn’t just personal—it creates a ripple effect, inspiring others to embrace their authentic selves. 2️⃣ Allyship and leadership are essential in fostering environments where everyone feels safe and valued. 3️⃣ This unique collaboration across companies proves that real change happens when we come together, regardless of competition. Special thanks to Lukáš Hradil for the idea and organization and to Rafael Gutierrez Roberto Rucio Cobos Berkan Mansur YILDIRAN and Geoffrey Quinet not only for being a panelist but for making the necessary connections to make this happen. #GrowthMindset #Allyship #ComingOutDay #LGBTQInclusion #CompetitorsUnited #PrideERG #PushingBoundaries #Medtronicemployee https://lnkd.in/eU_SUsKb

In my time at Boston Scientific, somewhere along the way I earned the trust of my current and former managers, my director, and a handful of mentors... People leaders who have remembered and reminded me that to do the level of work they have come to expect of me, I need to take care of myself (and not every person faced with unexpected personal challenges is so lucky to have this kind of support in the workplace). These figures in my life have each granted me the flexibility that I have needed to fulfill and, in some cases, exceed the expectations of employment -- showing up and getting the job done. I am grateful to report to people leaders who in this past year have actionably supported my individual/situational needs and my career development. I look forward to their continued support as we work together "Advancing Science for Life" through meaningful innovation for patients affected by digestive diseases across the globe. 2024 Highlights: I was fortunate to represent my franchise and attend the Florida Live Endoscopy Conference where I viewed a multitude of live cases and attended educational breakfast sessions/lectures. I was a finalist for a "Team Player Award" at the 2024 R&D Awards for the Endoscopy Division (photo below shows the amazing award winners and finalists along with leadership). Last but not least, I earned a promotion in title to Engineer III. Another important steppingstone in my career. I'm not really one for New Year's Resolutions but that's because I believe that we can be intentional each and every day to move toward a better future for ourselves and/or others. That looks different everyone because of our respective personal obstacles and that's okay. Instead of a resolution, my hope for 2025 is that I continue to surround myself with folks like me, who are resolute in their intentions to help and support the people in their lives and those they might never meet in any way they can. I challenge anyone who reads this to remind themselves of something/someone they're grateful for this year and to decide what they want to bring with them into 2025.

Navigating Change: Aligning Values with Purpose in Professional Transitions As we journey through our careers, the alignment between our values and work plays a crucial role in our overall satisfaction and sense of purpose. I’ve recently experienced this firsthand during my transition to a new opportunity, and it has been a rewarding period of self-reflection and growth. During the fall, I embraced the opportunity to rethink my values and what I truly seek in my next step. The luxury of time allowed me to evaluate my journey critically. I faced a pivotal decision: Should I continue on my current path or take the leap into a more meaningful role within the public sector? In this reflective process, I was fortunate to receive guidance from the brilliant Bénédicte Vanden Bossche, whose insights helped illuminate the potential of pursuing a career aligned with my beliefs. I also want to thank my network, friends, and family for their encouragement and unwavering support throughout this journey. Your belief in me has been both motivating and inspiring. Growing up in a family of public servants instilled in me a deep respect for the vital services provided to our communities. As I prepare to step into a role within public administration in just a few weeks, I am filled with pride and purpose. The decision to transition into a sector dedicated to community well-being resonates strongly with my values. Dr Anna Chioti, Head of the Division of Pharmacy and Medicines at the Luxembourg Ministry of Health is a significant source of inspiration for me to move into a public sector role. Her leadership and commitment to positive change are a role model for many of us. This journey has reaffirmed an essential insight: aligning your values with your employer is always possible. Realising that your work can reflect your passion for social equity, inclusion, and community support is empowering. When our professional lives resonate with our convictions, we thrive and contribute to a greater purpose. As we navigate our careers, I encourage my network to take the time to reflect on their values and how they can be integrated into their work. Whether they’re at the beginning of their careers or contemplating a change later on, pursuing a path that aligns with their beliefs can lead to fulfillment and meaningful impact in the lives of others. I look forward to keeping you posted about my move in a few days. Here’s to making choices that reflect our true selves and to never losing sight of the alignment between our values and our contributions to society. #CareerTransition #ValueAlignment #PublicService #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #Gratefulness
