Recently, Hagerty leaders from around the country gathered at our home base in City of Traverse City, Michigan City, Michigan, for a few days of face-to-face learning and camaraderie, which is incredibly valuable in this age of Zoom meetings and dispersed workforces. Hagerty is celebrating 40 years in business this year, so we spent a few moments reflecting on where we’ve been, but the bulk of our time was spent on where we’re going. Will the collectible car hobby continue to grow? And what will Hagerty’s role be? Our assessment: the future is incredibly bright for both Hagerty and the hobby. Sixty-seven million people in the U.S. describe themselves as car enthusiasts. They own 46 million collectible vehicles, worth more than a trillion dollars. And yet there is only one company whose sole purpose is to help them buy, sell, protect, and enjoy the cars they love. Thank you to everyone on One Team Hagerty. 30 years ago I started working at Hagerty, and in the 5 years I was there I watched tremendous growth in the company, and in myself. I would not be where I am today without that experience. It was so exciting to be a part of something special. Seeing Hagerty become so widely respected and admired is so satisfying, but not a surprise. Congratulations on 40 years!
