My take aways: 1. Sometimes we make rash decisions because of our emotions instead of our intellect. 2. Sometimes upper management gets it wrong. There are many challenges associated with what was the home to the Liverpool International Garden Festival and Liverpool City Council is to be commended for, at last, putting the wheels in motion as to its redevelopment. https://lnkd.in/eV2Q67kA The Garden Festival was a flagship event held as part of the attempts to regenerate Liverpool back in 1984: https://lnkd.in/ePuecp5v It was the second stage after the Merseyside Development Corporation together with Arrowcroft group initiated the redevelopment of what is the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool. In 1984, as a teenager growing up in Liverpool other than being proud about the environment such as the football teams and the music, there wasn’t a huge amount to be proud of. To understand better, I suggest watching this excellent documentary (a free subscription to Vimeo video may be required). https://lnkd.in/e6aQxxRJ As someone who is a passionate advocate of Liverpool and its surrounding areas, having “survived” in the City of my birth (you’ll hopefully have seen my posts particular the last one in conjunction with The Guide Liverpool and Hotel Anfield | 23 Anfield Rd), you’ll maybe understand why I am choosing to post particularly as I have also advocated for such as the Real Estate sector for a while - it’s not often that such an opportunity arises in and around a major city such as this within the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority area. The site isn’t without its challenges, plus there remains issues surrounding the #infrastructure and ensuring appropriate access in and out as well as maintaining, enhancing and working with the existing #nature.
