I'm excited to share insights from the review article "lncRNAs and Cyclin-Dependent Kinases: Unveiling Their Critical Roles in Cancer Progression." This comprehensive study explores how long non-coding RNAs interact with cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) to influence cancer development and progression. By dissecting these molecular interactions, the review highlights potential therapeutic targets and strategies for innovative cancer treatments. A must-read for anyone interested in the future of cancer research. #CancerResearch #lncRNAs #CDKs #MolecularBiology #CancerTherapeutics 🔗https://lnkd.in/gweAG635

🔬 ETH Zurich's latest research led by Andreas Moor has revealed a pivotal interaction between proteins on colorectal cancer cells and liver cells that could significantly advance our fight against deadly metastases. By understanding the "molecular handshake" that allows cancer cells to take root in the liver, the team opens the door to potential treatments aimed at preventing the spread of cancer. This discovery not only shifts the landscape of cancer treatment but could lead to groundbreaking therapies to halt metastases before they start. #CancerResearch #ETHZurich #HealthInnovation #Oncology Read more: https://lnkd.in/eCRgdh3y

17 years ago today, a Japanese team led by Dr. Hiroyuki Mano published the first study about the ALK-positive mutation in lung cancer. This significant discovery has led to targeted treatments, improving outcomes for current and future ALK+ patients. We're deeply grateful for the doctors, researchers, and patients, past and present, who have made this progress possible. Image features a micrograph showing ALK-positive lung adenocarcinoma. Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) stain; this staining technique helps differentiate between different components of the tissue, making it easier to identify abnormalities, such as cancer cells. #ALKPositive #alkpositivelungcancer #LungCancer #NSCLC

We’re driven by science to change the way cancer is treated by pursuing novel small molecules that inhibit critical signaling pathways in cancer that promote cancer cell survival and tumor growth, including RAF/MEK and FAK inhibition. If you are attending the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) annual meeting, stop by our booth to learn more about our clinical research in this area. #IGSC2024 #KRAS #Cancerresearch #gynonc #VerastemOnc

🔈Research news 🔬 New research reveals a key vulnerability in LKB1-deficient non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which is one of the deadliest forms of cancer and affects about 30% of cases all patients suffering from NSCLC. With contributions from professor Jiri Bartek, head of the Genome Integrity Group at the Danish Cancer Institute, a team of international scientists used zebrafish and human lung organoid models to screen for compounds that target these tumours. They identified two kinase inhibitors, Piceatannol and Tyrphostin 23, that show promise for more effective treatments. #cancer #cancerresearch #science #lungcancer

Read article: https://lnkd.in/gXQ-x6PM. Sensitive methods for measuring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) have empowered researchers to explore noninvasive approaches for detecting residual traces of cancer post intervention, known as molecular residual disease (MRD). Recently The Scientist had a Q&A with Isaac Garcia-Murillas of The Institute of Cancer Research in London to discuss new insights into the relationship between MRD and cancer progression, the way clinical trials are evolving to incorporate ctDNA analysis, and how ddPCR technology is driving progress in the field of oncology research.
