If it didn't work yesterday, doing it again won't make it work tomorrow. Before you double down on your goals, Make sure you have doubled down on your why. When I work with leaders on their leadership, even if they are just looking to improve their internal leadership, even if they are hoping to grow their internal teams, which might have nothing to do with their "why" We focus on their why. Why? Because nobody listens to a person who has no passion for their topic. You cannot lie about that. The Speakers Collaborative is the one stop shop to translating your why. Even if you come to us to hone your internal leadership. You can dig deep, find your why, and lead that conversation about the balance sheet from a place of passion, even if the balance sheet itself isn't your passion. If you want to hold the attention of your audience, regardless if it is a 5 member team or a 15,000 member conference - join one of our cohorts. Have a great week! Cody

“Perfect” is a myth—but “better” leadership and improved leadership team functioning is always possible. As Ken Warman shared in our latest Full Contact Leadership, real growth can only begin when we acknowledge there are places in which we need to get better. Acknowledging that together in the team, typically facilitated by a skilled coach to catalyze the process, can set the stage for more open, honest conversations.

KEEP GROWING To sustain leadership, one needs to continually grow. This means you need to keep leveling up. A misconception on leadership is that leaders are supposed to enjoy a lot of benefits. There may be perks attached to certain roles, however, genuine leadership is not about benefits, rather it’s about making sacrifices—so that you can become even more effective. Think of leadership as if it’s a traditional hot air balloon—in order for it to move up, you need to cut loose some of the sandbags. It’s the same thing in growing as a leader, in order to move up and grow, you need to give up some of the things that prevents you from performing at your best. And in case you feel that you’re already at the top of your game, don’t worry, because even the best can still get better. #CoachLex #SalesLeadershipCoach #Arcway

Legrand’s Leadership Lesson #6 – Community holds strength, power, and comfort. Leadership is often a lonely place and my sixth Leadership Lesson - Community holds strength, power, and comfort fits at all levels of leadership. Find your tribe. Find or develop a community of leaders where you receive strength, gain power, and feel comfort. This could all exist in one group, or you could be a part of multiple groups. The groups could be a collection of friends or colleagues, as well as groups you pay to join. It is totally up to you how you approach it. When I was a principal, many of us kept each other on speed dial and met for dinner once a month. I have also paid to be in group coaching and affinity spaces. Again…how you approach it is totally up to you, but the key is not to be in it alone. 😊 Do you feel community is important as a leader? Let me know in the comments. —------------ Join my free Joyful Excellence Community for more content and event info. Link to visit my website in my bio.

Real life leadership lesson. I wanted to go home! My wife needed me to stay with her. (Watch the full video for perspective) Leadership Lessons: 1. What you need is always more important than what you want. 2. Leadership is about what’s best for the team NOT the leader. 3. The long term effect of your decisions is more important than the short term feelings. Leadership is not a spectator sport. Learn it. Live it. Lead it. Hope this helps Kendall
