On behalf of co-authors Ahmad Shaaban, and Alessandro Marini, I am excited to share our latest research publication: 'Enhancing Power Output of Ducted Wind Turbines through Flow Control', presented recently at the Torque 2024 conference in Florence. Link: https://lnkd.in/d42bTH-w Our study focuses on enhancing the performance of ducted wind turbines using passive flow control devices. Key findings include a power output increase of up to 127%, thanks to strategic airflow manipulation. This advancement promises significant improvements in wind turbine efficiency, particularly in low wind conditions. We are excited about the potential of this research to revolutionize wind energy, especially in regions with low wind speeds! #WindTurbines #ductedTurbines #FlowControl #TORQUE2024 #RenewableEnergy

Being in charge of the analysis on potential international markets for Caeli Wind GmbH, I come across quite a few new insights almost every day. From time to time, I intend to share some of the most stunning findings – at least they were for me, maybe not for you 😊 To begin with, I found it quite interesting that – as you can see from the map – in nine federal states of the US by 2022 there was not even one single operating wind turbine (all shown in red). These are certainly not the states with the best wind conditions but compared to other countries in the world some of them like Arkansas and Kentucky appear quite competitive – but still no power generation from wind at all?

Until 2028, there exists a massive demand for 12MW+ offshore turbine specific nacelle and blades. Additional capacities of 2 GW are required for nacelle assemblies and 5-6 GW for large offshore blades, to meet the global supply deficits. There exists ample supply for offshore wind towers until 2028, hence no major opportunity for manufacturers to invest in facilities.
