Here’s what I’ve noticed so far Genuine Job Openings: The listings seem to be real opportunities from various industries. It’s still in beta, but I think it’s worth checking out if you’re tired of the clutter on other job platforms. 🎄𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆! 🎄 Last Friday we had our first InnoForge Christmas party which was a chance to reflect, celebrate and have a bit of fun. Unplanned, we squeezed in two meals (lunch at 1 PM and dinner at 10:30 PM), played some bad golf, enjoyed a few cocktails, and thankfully avoided any polar bear dance moves! 🕺 When we started InnoForge one of our big goals was finding the right balance between work and family. We’re not there yet, but it’s a top priority for 2025. That’s why it meant so much to have our partners join us for the celebrations. They might not officially work for the business but they’re the backbone of what we do. Our biggest supporters, listeners, problem-solvers, and the people who’ve backed us at every step (often with sacrifices of their own). Fast forward to today and it’s back to packed lunches and planning for 2025. We’ve got exciting goals lined up and can’t wait to make an even bigger impact next year. Here's a breakdown of her tips and tricks that resonated deeply with me: 1️⃣ Building Projects That Solve Business Problems She emphasizes the importance of building real-world projects that showcase your problem-solving abilities. Recruiters want to see how you think and how your analysis impacts decision-making. 2️⃣ Do not be greedy as you are looking to gain experience, not maximizing earnings 3️⃣ Build in public. Show your journey. Share projects, new tools you’re learning, and even challenges. Being visible and consistent helps you stand out. Recruiters and peers appreciate seeing your effort and growth over time. Be open to sharing your project with your peers or non-technical peers so you can get another perspective on your projects. Also engage on other people's posts. 4️⃣ Being an Active Part of a Community. The people are the community, not the WhatsApp group. Be actively engaged in your community. Network and attend conferences. 5️⃣ Working on your resume and optimizing your LinkedIn profile. Your LinkedIn profile can be a magnet for opportunities when done right. First day of Motivez Application Season 🤔 ✨ ... What was it all about 🧐❓ Let's talk about it 🙂↕️! Today's first session was centred around 'Finding and understanding your ' 🗺️⭐. What motivates you? What are your long-term goals? What are your main passions and purposes in life? These are all questions we asked ourselves today to find our 'why' so you can make applications to companies that align with your 'why' 🙌🏾. Following this, we were able to participate in a Fireside Chat hosted by George Imafidon MBE with an amazing range of panellists ☎️! Brittany Lambert, Peter Wood, Jadyn Abankwa and Sunny Yang (Zeying) all gave brilliant insight into what to do when messaging recruiters, how to get the most out of opportunities, building your way into discomfort to find success and many other helpful topics 📝 💎! What I took away from this experience was the importance of intention and strategy👍🏾.
