🚂 Next stop on the SMART Reactors train is project A05, a collaborative research project where Sri Sannihita Chavali, with the support of junior group leader Dr. Miriam Edel from the Gescher's Lab of Technical Microbiology - TUHH led by Prof. Dr. Johannes Gescher, and Christiane Roller from the Institute of Polymers and Composites led by Prof. Dr. Bodo Fiedler work towards tailoring functional electrode surfaces as substratum for hydrogenotrophic biofilms. This project aims to understand and establish techniques to synthesize porous carbon electrodes for robust biofilm growth. With the use of synthetic regulation, a more resilient biofilm can be developed on Aero- and Globugraphite electrodes where the knallgas bacterium Cupriavidus necator can produce useful platform chemicals from carbon dioxide. #SMARTreactors #TUHH #Technischistdasmöglich #TUHamburg #engineeringtofaceclimatechange #CupriavidusNecator #Aerographite #Globugraphite #Biofilm

Hello, dear colleagues! Today, I am bringing a #TBT of the XIV Regional Meeting of Catalysis, held at the Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Energia e Materiais (CNPEM) in Campinas-SP, Brazil, on April 22 and 23. First, the event was amazing, with outstanding presentations, good interactions and connections, enhanced networking, new ideas, and friendships! Besides, we were introduced to #Sirius, the most complex project in Brazilian science and one of the world’s most advanced synchrotron light sources. This is the FUTURE OF SCIENCE! At this event, I gave a flash talk and presented a poster on the work: Synthesis of Sn-Exchanged Amberlyst-45 Catalysts for the Conversion of Glucose and Xylose into Platform Molecules, the final part of my thesis. Surprisingly, I was also invited to be a poster evaluator during the poster session. I was very pleased to learn about the work of my colleagues in catalysis, as well as contribute in some way to their research! Last but not least, we invited the participants of the event to a gathering, which was amazing, with very good stories, connections, and partnerships! #BalanceIsEverything Thank you very much Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Energia e Materiais (CNPEM) and SBCat - Sociedade Brasileira de Catálise for the organization of this amazing event! #BrazilianCatalysis #EMBRAPA #FAPESP #CATFERT
