Because of anaesthesia or strong medication, patients may be unable to react to dangerous situations caused by electric currents. In the medical gas systems of hospitals in Sri Lanka, the most consumed agent is Oxygen because of its highly required for the breathing of patients. Other gases such as Medical compressed air, N2O, Surgical air are less consumed in comparison with Oxygen. In the design of these systems, the consumptions are calculated mathematically and later pipe system pressure drops are calculated. Thus, correct pipe sizing is selected for the easy conveyance of the medical gas agents. The next step is to select the Central Medical plant. It may be Duplex, Triplex, Quadruplex. As per the requirement of the medical gases, the central system is finalized.

This time, they’re promoting a “unique service model” that supposedly ensures equipment swaps within 24 hours to minimize disruptions. Let me be perfectly clear: this is NOT the experience of patients. As someone who’s been using NxStage for over three years, I can tell you with absolute certainty that this claim is false. Never—not once—have I received a replacement cycler or part within 24 hours. The reality is that there are logistical steps and delays, and nothing about this process has ever resembled what NxStage is claiming here. So, where’s the data? NxStage, can you provide evidence to back this up? Because every time patients ask for proof or real numbers, the response is either silence or deflection. This isn’t just a social media slip-up; it’s a complete failure by NxStage’s leadership to ensure honest communication with the patient community. Patients and care partners aren’t looking for flashy marketing—they’re looking for facts. And facts matter, especially in an industry like renal care, where decisions about treatment and equipment can literally be life or death. Why does transparency matter? Let’s break it down: 🔹 Patients need realistic timelines for equipment replacements to plan their care and avoid treatment disruptions. 🔹 Misleading claims cause confusion and set false expectations, eroding trust between patients and the companies they rely on. 🔹 Honest communication builds accountability in an already fragile system, where patients deserve to know the truth. NxStage’s decision to promote a baseless “24-hour equipment swap” claim is nothing short of insulting. Vulnerable patients and their caregivers deserve better than empty promises. Instead of misleading the community with bold-faced lies, NxStage should focus on fixing the real issues within their service model. To Joe Turk Helen Giza, and everyone in leadership at NxStage: this is unacceptable. Patients are not numbers or marketing targets—they’re human beings who rely on your equipment for life-sustaining care. Making claims you can’t back up is harmful, unethical, and frankly, laughable. If NxStage wants to be taken seriously, here’s what needs to happen: 🔸 Provide data that supports your claims—don’t just throw out empty statements with no evidence. 🔸 Be transparent about how equipment swaps really work and what patients should expect. 🔸 Stop using marketing spin to prey on vulnerable people who deserve the truth. Patients deserve honesty, not another deceptive social media campaign designed to manipulate them into choosing your products. Until NxStage commits to transparency and accountability, claims like this will remain what they are: a joke.
