Here's what my week looks like (from an island with more sheep than people.. 🐑 ) - feeding back to The Scottish Government on the National Islands plan - recording a 'you do what?' episode with Damian Matheson - working with Lindsey @ Nikita to roll out Unboxed (you should join the waitlist 😎 https://lnkd.in/eV7Gfbyb) - implementing a 'warm spaces' policy at our local community hall (board role #1!) - rolling out the purchase of our local church to turn into a community shop & cafe (board role #2) - mentoring a young woman on our island - running a How to Tell Better Stories event with Karen Worthy, facilitated by Ece (https://lu.ma/vi7zsbwb you're invited too!) - writing an essay I'm currently calling 'we got work wrong' (subscribe here for long-form hot takes: https://lnkd.in/e58D3ffC) - working with Simran to implement a bunch of automations, freeing our team up! - supporting Ang to create infrastructure to mobilise GW members to run more of their own initiatives (like Reese's Ops Pow Wow, or Ramiro's co-working) There is no longer one path to success 🪜 In fact, I think we need *more* people with diverse, squiggly, backgrounds deployed in a wide range of places. Ubran, rural, islands, highlands. Because we take the lessons we learn in one domain, and shift it to another. And that's invaluable. Drop a 🌀 if you agree!
