What do #Halloween 🎃 and #innovation have in common?
Lots in my Halloween-loving opinion
This little gem (a terrifying creature called The Boiled One--look it up on Youtube and you definitely won't sleep tonight) is a #codesign between me and my 12-year-old son.
Why do I love developing costumes?
#creativeplay for a start: we get to try on a new persona in a low-risk environment.
A good costume can be made by #adapting elements in unexpected ways. For example the "hair" of these character was created by melting pipe cleaners over my gas range to create a "cooked effect" and paper mache-ing over a mannequin head. This is a classic #SCAMPER tool (see my link in my FEATURED section) to create something new from something that already exists.
Finally it's actually #FUN , even when the pressure's on.
And that's when people get in a state of #flow --when they're working on something together that's creative, slightly unfamiliar and new.
You're never really sure if it's going to turn out, but when it does, there is soooo much satisfaction and, dare I say it? JOY.
Do I need to draw the line for you to #transformation and #innovation ????
I think you get the picture... 😉
#halloween
We love #halloween at Big Eye! Why? Not because it's creepy, but because it's the one holiday that really let's people action their #creativity and #takerisks .
Happy Halloween!!
