After Greenikk’s closure, I’ve been brainstorming new ideas, and one random thought has stuck with me—what if we could apply a Zepto-style approach to 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆? But instead of dark stores, we’d tap into local pharmacies using Beckn protocol, creating an efficient, decentralized platform. The idea? You search for a medicine or upload your prescription, and Pharmigo checks nearby pharmacies’ inventories via backend integrations with their systems. If it’s unavailable, we’ll let you know and deliver within 30 minutes from available locations even if its far.
It seems simple, but the more I think about it, the more I realize the complexities:
𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀: How do we ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, especially when managing prescriptions and handling sensitive data? Navigating India’s complex drug laws and ensuring we’re following all medical and pharmaceutical guidelines will be key.
𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: How easy (or hard) would it be to connect with each pharmacy's inventory management system? Can we standardize the process, or would each pharmacy require a custom integration?
𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲l: Can we really make the flat-fee model for pharmacies (e.g., ₹50/day) work, while ensuring enough value for them to stay on board?
𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 & 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: How can we maintain reliable delivery times in different regions, especially with the unpredictability of local inventory availability?
Another thought: I haven’t found an "𝗨𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀" yet, and I’m even considering integrating that into Pharmigo. Imagine being able to call an ambulance as quickly as you can call a taxi.
NB: I’m aware of platforms like 1mg and others that already offer medicine delivery, but based on my experience, none of them provide truly fast, reliable delivery in any city & I’m not actively building this right now, but rather brainstorming and engaging with peers. If anyone is interested in exploring this idea further, feel free to take it up!
I don’t have all the answers yet, but one thing’s for sure—sometimes the best ideas emerge from moments of uncertainty and curiosity. 💭
What do you think? Could Pharmigo work, or am I missing something critical? I'm eager to hear your thoughts!
