INTERFLUO CIRCULATORY SUPPORT SYSTEM PROJECT Advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock are diseases with high mortality and require effective early intervention. Mortality can be reduced with a universal device that can be implanted and widely used in acute and chronic heart failure patients. We define a permanent and temporary support system that works with principles separate from existing axial pumps, centrifugal pumps, intraortic balloon pump and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation that can be placed percutaneously. Interfluo includes a movable unit with a drum in the center and fins on the drum inner walls that will accelerate blood flow. The pump fins that will accelerate the blood flow will be placed inside the drum, therefore, instead of axial and centrifugal pumps squeezing the blood into a narrow space between the rotating surface and the wall, it will work with the principle of radial directing, which halves the contact surface between the blood and the metal. Replacing central shaft also icreases lumen area device diameter ratio thus provide easier implantation through percutaneous route. We expect reduction of blood destruction, thrombosis and pump dysfunction. A preliminary prototype was developed in Innoway R &D and patent application was submitted. We established an international concortium and submitted an application to European innovation council pathfinder program. 🎉 Pleased to share the positive reception of the ONCODIR Policy Analytics Tool (DELI) at the recent Cancer Working Group Meeting of EUREGHA - European Regional and Local Health Authorities! The DELI, whose development is led by our team I-SENSEGroup/ICCS, is an intelligent dashboard designed to enhance decision-making for colorectal cancer (CRC) prevention. During the meeting, our researcher Giorgos Dritsakis showcased the tool’s features, which combines descriptive and predictive analytics including data on existing policies across the EU and the impact of various factors on CRC risk. 22 stakeholders from all over the EU found the tool engaging and interactive and provided excellent feedback on the visualisations, analytics and the usefulness and potential adoption of the tool. Participants also made suggestions to further improve the tool. We are proud to be part of this collaborative effort to advance cancer prevention and health policy-making in Europe, and we are excited to continue developing innovative technologies for health promotion across Europe.
