MY HEALTH, MY RIGHT 📍 According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), this year's theme for the World Health Day was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, health education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination. As a fundamental human right, citizens need to get access to adequate health care and there is a need for the Government to ensure this by investing in: ✅ Preventive healthcare ✅ Innovation in health care ✅ Health care facilities ✅ Healthcare workers An investment in these will, to a large extent, improve the current healthcare standards and also improve the general quality of life of the nation. We are also advocating for us as individuals to do the little we can, in our different fields, to improve the quality of services we render as they in one way or the other affect the health of others. Most importantly, we should adopt positive health practices into our daily routines because we are the ones who hold the key to our own health and well being. Happy World Health Day to you 🎉 #worldhealthday #publichealth #healthyliving

Apr. 7 is celebrated as world health day. This year’s theme is ‘My health, my right’. Our Health is the most important element to living long, creative and dignified lives. Unrestricted and easy access to quality healthcare, conducive working and environmental conditions free of discrimination should be the norm. However, the fundamental right to health is underscored by the inequities that exist globally. The WHO’s Council on the Economics of Health for All reports that at least 140 out of the UN’s 193 member states recognise health as a human right in their constitutions. However, progress towards codifying this right with relevant laws guaranteeing access to health services is stalled. In 2021, more than half of the world’s population (4.5 billion people) were not fully covered for basic, essential health services. Today is a powerful reminder for all of us to recognize and promote health as a fundamental human right for everyone while also prioritizing our health and wellbeing in all aspects of life. Wishing you all Happy World Health Day!!! #worldhealthday #myhealthmyright

Today, on World Health Day, we celebrate the resilience and dedication of healthcare professionals worldwide who tirelessly work to keep us safe and healthy. The World Health Organization has found that at least 140 countries recognize health as a human right in their constitution. Yet countries are not passing and putting into practice laws to ensure their populations are entitled to access health services. This underpins the fact that at least 4.5 billion people — more than half of the world’s population — were not fully covered by essential health services in 2021. To address these types of challenges, the theme for World Health Day 2024 is 'My health, my right’. This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination. #VILT #ChangingWaysTogether #WorldHealthDay2024 #HealthForAll #MyHealthMyRight

Today is World Health Day - a yearly reminder of just how important it is for everyone to have access to healthcare when they need it. Even though 140 countries explicitly name health as a human right in their constitution, many aren’t ensuring that people can access health services – leaving 4.5 billion people around the world without essential health services. So the theme of this World Health Day is My Health, My Right. This is a push for the rights of everyone everywhere to have quality health services, education and information. Health is about all of us – and today is a chance for us to come together and take action to improve health outcomes worldwide. We all have a role to play in building a healthier future for ourselves and generations to come.
