For my Albanian-speaking friends and partners, my interview to KTV-Interaktiv about recently signed €400m MoU between the Government of Kosovo and EBRD. It was signed during the WB Investment Summit in London and covers three priority areas: i) transport projects (roads, railways); ii) renewable energy and energy efficiency (auction and c-PPA based RE projects, grid reinforcement, energy efficiency in public and residential buildings); and iii) municipal and environmental projects (renewable-based district heating projects, water supply and water sewerage, urban mobility). These projects will remain a high priority for the EBRD and Government and expected to bring at least €400m investments in the next four years. #EBRD, #Kosovo, #investments

Extremely practical and enlightening panel discussions in Tashkent today on the topics of urbanization, "GenPlan" development models and frameworks, and efficient implementation of decentralized, collective decision-making. The World Bank is bringing critical questions to the fore at an optimal time in Uzbekistan, stimulating important conversations on rational land management, digitalization, and utilization of limited resources. Transportation, energy, infrastructure, clean/green initiatives, and a rapidly increasing population - all vital topics - were covered by excellent experts from around the globe. The multiple mentions of the Kengashi and Mahallas accented the experts' understanding of 'how things tick' in Uzbekistan at the organic level, and how change may be practically achieved. Special thanks to all the sponsors and specifically SECO and the European Commission for their direct support of this forum.
