In this poem, I explore the profound connection between vulnerability and strength, illustrating how our tears can become the foundation of resilience. Each emotion captured reflects the complexity of the human experience, reminding us that it’s okay to feel deeply and express our pain. When I started studying story structure in 2007, I read every book on every sort of novel formula I could find. But after a few years, I hit a plateau. It felt like there was more to learn, but I wasn’t sure where to turn next. Until I made a shift in the sorts of “how to write a novel” books I was reading. That shift was studying not just the structure of a novel, but the structure of different genres. Every genre has something unique to teach us about storytelling. Each one is like a different species of story. They all have all the same parts, but different genres will have those parts in different proportions. Certain parts will be more prominent in some genres over others. That’s why studying different genres can help us recognize and make the most of the various elements of storytelling we might otherwise overlook. Romance shows us how characters in stories represent choices. It’s not just about the external conflict, but about the protagonist’s internal conflict. What sort of person does the protagonist want to be? The character they choose to be with shows us the new version of themselves they choose to become. Even if you’re not much of a romance reader, exploring the genre can be an enlightening experience. You might learn something valuable you can apply in your own genre or try your hand at a fusion. #writing #fictionwriting #novelwriting #amwriting #writingcommunity #creativewriting

Have you ever paused to consider the magic that surrounds us in everyday life? Let's unfold this magic with this beautiful thought! "Exploring the Magic in Everyday Life: Inspired by W.B. Yeats"💫✨️ William Butler Yeats, renowned poet and playwright, once remarked, "The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper." This profound statement captures the essence of Yeats' fascination with the mystical and the unseen. Through his poetry, Yeats invites us to look beyond the mundane and embrace the enchantment that surrounds us. Yeats, a key figure of the Irish literary revival, often delved into themes of mythology, spirituality, and the supernatural. His works, such as "The Tower" and "The Wild Swans at Coole," resonate with imagery that transcends the ordinary, drawing readers into a realm where reality intertwines with imagination. In interpreting Yeats' words, one might consider how our perception shapes our experience of the world. By cultivating a keen awareness, we can uncover hidden beauty in the simplest of moments — the dance of sunlight through leaves, the whisper of wind across fields, or the fleeting glance of a stranger that sparks a connection. Moreover, Yeats encourages us to nurture our senses — to see more deeply, listen more intently, and feel more profoundly. In doing so, we may discover that what appears ordinary at first glance holds layers of meaning and significance. The world becomes a canvas painted with hues of wonder, where every encounter, every experience, becomes imbued with a touch of magic. Ultimately, Yeats' quote serves as a reminder to embrace curiosity and cultivate a sense of wonder in our daily lives. It prompts us to approach each day with fresh eyes and an open heart, ready to uncover the magic that awaits when we choose to see beyond the surface. Share your thoughts 💭 on this article! I'm an author with a dream and a goal! As a self-published author, the journey has been a labor of love, filled with hard work, perseverance, and endless passion for storytelling. But like many writers, I dream of one day being picked up by a traditional publishing firm—a firm that sees my work, believes in it, and invests in my story. That moment, when a publisher decides my book is worthy of their support, would be more than just validation. It would mean that my story has the potential to reach a larger audience, touching hearts and minds on a bigger scale. And while that’s a dream in itself, there's one goal I keep holding onto: becoming a New York Times Best-Selling Author. Seeing my name on that list would be the ultimate achievement, a symbol that my hard work, dedication, and belief in my craft have paid off in a way I’ve always envisioned. To every writer out there, whether you're self-published or traditionally published, keep pushing toward your dreams. We all have the potential to make them a reality—one page at a time. #Title: Silent Whispers There’s no one like that, to whom my heart can whisper true, Words linger in the silence, emotions just passing through. Like moonlight’s tender glow, memories softly stay, Eyes that search the distance, then quietly look away. At every turn, I seek a smile that’s rare, In each heartbeat, a hidden longing flares. Whispers of my soul, unheard and softly bound, In the heart’s deep chambers, a quiet ache is found. There’s no one like that, to whom I can confide, In my solitary journey, emotions quietly reside. In the heart’s winding paths, secrets gently hide, With each beat, old memories softly collide. In dreams’ vivid hues, a cherished scene is laid, Every corner of my heart, in soft colors is arrayed. Yet there’s no one like that, to hear what I can’t say, My heart’s quiet murmurs, tucked silently away. Walking with my thoughts, shadows by my side, In the stillness of night, emotions quietly bide. No one understands the whispers I hold tight, My heart’s silent stories, concealed in the night. So I'll keep my secrets, deep within my chest, Hoping one day, they'll find a place to rest. By Naila Rais Sharing a piece of my heart with you all today. This poem, "Silent Whispers," captures the essence of unspoken emotions and the quiet journey of our inner thoughts. Sometimes, the most profound feelings remain hidden, waiting for the right moment to be understood. I hope these words resonate with you and bring a sense of connection to those silent whispers we all carry within us. #Poetry #Emotions #InnerThoughts #CreativeWriting #NailaRais

A friend of mine Dan Rutberg recently published a beautiful poetry piece I am excited to share with you all. My interpretations is this poem suggests that true understanding comes from looking inward rather than outward. This poem serves as a reminder to trust my intuition and insights when navigating through my daily life and my career. By reflecting on my own experiences and motivations, I can make more thoughtful and meaningful decisions.
