Got to deliver this gem to a machine shop yesterday! After a few tests, and some ROI calculations, by implementing the PowRgrip system from REGO-FIX USA is going to pay itself off in 6 months. The Clamping unit, a PG10 die, 18 tool holders and 18 sleeves. And, every 6 months after that, they're improving their margins, or, more likely, investing into more holders to further reduce their consumables costs, dropping their cost to manufacture by ridiculous amounts. How ridiculous? One of the tests we ran went from indexing a $50 endmill daily, to every 3rd day, and no, that's not a typo. Thank you Skyler Hunt for your support in all the testing we ran, and making all these, and future savings, possible. #machineshoplife #turningandearning #growthmindset #continuousimprovement #partnership #cncmanufacturing
Our Rego-Fix clamping unit and dies are my favorite to work with! Always a good investment
Well done to you too Arthur, you were instrumental in getting the system in there and having confidence it would out perform their current/previous tooling options. Thanks for your support!
Vericut : Simplify Manufacturing
8moI’ve seen some of the craziest results just through paying attention to the process. I was working at the time for a major cutting tools manufacturer who incentivized us to ensure our customers were using the right tools/processes to generate value. I have seen applications where: a $50 endmill in a $150 holder replaced by a tool that costs 4-5x as much in a holder that costs 4-5x as much ($300 endmill now in a $1000 holder) The upfront investment cost into the reliability and production result included a cheaper per part cost because the more expensive cutting tool even lasted longer so it was amortized over many more parts.
