Every single one is barking about how their software is "revolutionizing productivity" or "transforming my business." Yeah, well, it’s transforming my ability to HIT THAT HIDE BUTTON with Olympic precision! 🏆 Seriously, they show up with their super-polished videos, cheesy enthusiasm, and that same smug "trust me, I’m under 30 and I cracked the code" energy. They're all waving around these “groundbreaking” tools, promising me success if I just throw a bit of cash their way. You know, because THAT'S never gone wrong before. 🙄 It’s like these ads were all made by the same person who’s convinced they’ve just reinvented the wheel… except it’s the same old wheel. And am I the only one wondering why they all sound like a TED Talk reject who's decided LinkedIn wasn’t giving them enough validation? Because if one more of these hoodie-wearing, fast-talking mini-Tony Robbins wannabes tells me their software is going to "scale my business," I might just scale my account right off Facebook entirely! The Point Is: There's a serious oversaturation of generic, poorly targeted ads out there, and companies need to realize that not everyone is swayed by flashy presentations and youthful exuberance. Quality over quantity, Facebook—please give me ads that don’t make me feel like I’m stuck in a never-ending tech startup pitch!

Here's a question about how genAI could improve the conversations we're having here on LinkedIn. (And no, I don't mean the built-in prompts that LI generates.) You may know that Rosenfeld has developed a genAI chatbot (the Rosenbot!) that lives behind the paywall of our membership platform (the Rosenverse!). I'd like it to venture out in the world to get some fresh air from time to time; what if it could be summoned, like a genie from a bottle, here on LinkedIn when you need to draw in additional perspectives? So, say, next time you're in a debate about, oh, the value of three decades of accessibility work, you could say "Well, Jakob, that's *my* opinion. But let's hear what others have to say... hey, Rosenbot!, go fetch!". The Rosenbot, eager intern that it is, would pull together and summarize the opinions and ideas in our books, conference and community sessions, and more. You'd drop a summary in a LinkedIn comment, or maybe a link to more, or both... I'm sure there are technical issues. And I'll confess that I'm not always happy when bots are invited into settings previously reserved for humans (nowadays, when I run community meetings on Zoom, all sorts of note-taking bots invite themselves to the table--I always decline). But it's an interesting idea--to me, at least. I'd love to know what you think.

So I don't miss out on the fun, I had ChatGPT roast me as well based on our conversations this year. While it mostly applied to earlier this year and this summer as I've been using Cursor the last few months, it was still very accurate. Implementing a fee structure not only combats the bot issue, but also ensures that the resources required for maintaining and improving the technology are readily available. Additionally, charging for the use of a social platform may incentivize users to utilize them more responsibly and efficiently, thereby promoting mindful vs. meaningless consumption.
