Yesterday, I experienced my first-ever Thanksgiving, and it was magical. Warm hugs, delicious food, and that indescribable feeling of community that transcends cultures. Today, scrolling through Reddit, I stumbled upon the annual "Who ruined Thanksgiving?" thread. I couldn't resist diving in: 33% involved broken etiquette (shoutout to the guest who brought Tupperware and claimed ALL the leftovers) 25% showcased pure outrage-turned-entertainment ("How dare they!" quickly became "This is comedy gold") 18% sparked heated debates about socioeconomic factors (turns out, leftover politics are complicated) 15% exposed decades of family tension, now served with a side of cranberry sauce My takeaway? Thanksgiving is less about perfect turkey and more about the beautiful mess of human connection—where family drama, cultural expectations, and occasionally, Tupperware wars collide to create unforgettable stories. Anyways, happy Thanksgiving everyone! Link to the original discourse: https://lnkd.in/eB_PNDqD #CommunityInsights #DataAnalysis #ThanksgivingStories"

"A raccoon was almost served at the White House Thanksgiving." True story. In 1926, someone sent President Coolidge a live raccoon... For Thanksgiving dinner. Plot twist: The Coolidges adopted it as a pet instead. But that's just the start of the weird and wonderful history of America's favorite food holiday. Here are some mind-bending Thanksgiving facts you won't believe: 1️⃣ The Turkey Tales • Americans eat 704M pounds of turkey each year • Only male turkeys actually "gobble" • The Butterball hotline answers 100K questions annually • Minnesota raises 38.5M turkeys (most in the U.S.) Pro Tip: Got a turkey emergency? Butterball's hotline has you covered. 2️⃣ The Parade Chronicles • Felix the Cat was the first-ever Macy's parade balloon (1927) • 28.5M people watch on TV • 3.5M watch in person • Balloons can't exceed 70 feet high (after a 1997 Cat in the Hat incident) Pro Tip: Want prime parade viewing? People line up by 6:30 AM. 3️⃣ The Surprising Origins • First Thanksgiving lasted 3 days • "Jingle Bells" was originally a Thanksgiving song • The woman who made Thanksgiving national also wrote "Mary Had a Little Lamb" • Two Texas towns claim to have hosted the first Thanksgiving 4️⃣ The Modern Twists • 70% prefer leftovers to the actual meal • The day after is the busiest for plumbers (yes, really) • Most people travel to Orlando for the holiday • Disney movies dominate Thanksgiving box office Fun fact: The movie "Frozen" had the biggest Thanksgiving opening ever ($67M). 5️⃣ The Food Facts • Cranberry sauce is the most hated dish • That post-meal sleepiness? It's not the turkey • Native Americans used cranberries for dye and medicine • TV dinners were invented due to a Thanksgiving turkey surplus Real talk: One town in Connecticut once delayed Thanksgiving... Because of a pumpkin pie shortage. (Some priorities never change 🥧) Check out the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gv-TyMTn --- What's your favorite Thanksgiving tradition? I used to think Thanksgiving was just about the turkey. Then, one day, I realized something: It’s about celebrating those who make our lives better. By widening our footprint in the world. Thankful to the customers who push us to deliver better and innovate smarter. Thankful for family and friends who love us, support us, and push us to be our best. And mostly, to have like-minded rebels (and family members) who will fight over the last piece of pumpkin pie. It's why I am "Grateful for customers who challenge us. They're like free consultants MINUS the PowerPoints." Customers & Family = Pumpkin pie Those who push us = More pumpkin pie + Whipped cream My takeaway for this day: Celebrate those who make your life richer and never forget to show your gratitude. Have a safe and amazing Thanksgiving filled with laughter. ----------------------------------------- ♻️ Repost if you agree. 🔔 Follow David Brier for daily tips on branding and selling

Your favorite Thanksgiving traditions were actually created by marketers as early as the 1920s 🤯 Here's what marketers can learn from Thanksgiving's brilliant brand builders: 💡 Solve a real problem: Ocean Spray didn't just sell cranberries—they solved the seasonal sales problem by creating a shelf-stable "tradition". 💡 Make it stupidly simple. Campbell's green bean casserole used just 6 ingredients. The easier you make it, the faster it spreads. 💡Don't sell products, create traditions: Smart brands turned business problems into cultural moments. Marketing didn't just sell the meal, it shaped how America celebrates. 🦃 Save this post for your next Thanksgiving marketing strategy meeting! #thanksgiving #thanksgivingday #thanksgivinggiveaway #thanksgivingsales

🎃 How do marketers capitalize on Halloween, transforming fear into a $10-12 billion seasonal phenomenon? Here’s a glimpse into the strategic play behind the spooky season: 1. Colorful Compensation: As summer fades, the gloom of autumn sets in. Marketers inject vibrancy into the market with eye-catching Halloween decorations, driving sales to a staggering $5.3 billion last year. 2. Emotion Economy: The moodiness of autumn can lead to consumer inactivity. To counter this, marketers tap into one of the most potent human emotions—fear. By creating nerve-tickling experiences and spooky decorations, they keep the registers ringing. 3. Modern Rituals: With the decline of agrarian rituals, new traditions have taken root. Instead of harvesting and curing meats, consumers are now busy decorating their homes and stocking up on candy. 💡Understanding these tactics can enhance your marketing strategies and help tap into consumer behavior effectively. How does your brand leverage seasonal trends to boost engagement and sales? Let’s discuss innovative ways to leverage seasonal trends for business growth. #BusinessStrategy #HalloweenMarketing #ConsumerBehavior #SeasonalTrends

🦃It’s the night before Thanksgiving here in Canada, and while we’re getting ready to stuff our faces with turkey tomorrow, I’ve got something to chew on tonight: You don’t manage your brand. 🤯 Yeah, I said it. Unbutton those jeans and let’s get real for a second. What do we actually do? We influence. We guide. We nudge how people perceive our brand. But the truth is, the audience holds the keys to the kingdom. 🗝️ Their perception is the reality. So this Thanksgiving, let’s stop trying to control the uncontrollable, like a bad gravy spill at dinner. 🫣 Focus on making your brand something people can connect with, something they feel. Stir up some excitement, create moments they’ll remember, and let your audience take the wheel. Think of it like preparing a feast: you do the cooking, but you can’t control how much they’ll rave about your pie afterward. 🍂 They’ll decide. So here’s to a little less “managing” and a little more influencing. Let’s create brands people love to talk about—just like their favorite dish at the Thanksgiving table. 🍽️ Who's ready to start Monday with a fresh perspective? #HappyThanksgiving #BrandingTruth #InfluenceNotManage
