It then goes on to present the results of qualitative and quantitative evaluations of the method with normal-hearing and hearing-impaired subjects with and without hearing aids. Overall, the article shows that the method is well suited for aided loudness measurements, a condition that is of particular importance in the context of the fitting of hearing devices. Interested? As audiologists, it's crucial to understand the distinction between hearing screenings and comprehensive evaluations. At the recent AIHHP conference in the UK, I shared a key insight: "People don't care so much about their hearing. They care about their listening." While hearing screenings are often suggested, I firmly believe they are not enough. Instead, we should focus on comprehensive audiometric evaluations. This approach ensures we uncover the full spectrum of auditory issues, rather than leaving people underserved. I encourage my colleagues to champion thorough evaluations for better outcomes in our field.

I understand this issue. Now, the next issue is how to do 90K assessments annually in NC nursing homes mandated by federal law....with 700 licensed audiologists in the state. And that does not even address the need for assisted living and other communal living situations mandated by the Olmstead Act of 1999.
