In many of my conversations on digital skills, people focus on advanced skills needed for tech jobs. However, without an active user base that have #basic #digital #skills, a thriving local digital ecosystem will not take off. To help governments and others achieve ambitious basic digital skills targets set out in the #UN Global Digital Compact, by the G20, or national digital policies for example, we developed a policy brief with recommendations and learnings on advancing digital skills for all. The lack of basic digital skills is a top barrier for mobile internet adoption and addressing this challenge is as essential as developing advanced skills needed for the job market.
