«It’s not possible to scale without having a strong and defined culture» - Michel Sagen, serial entrepreneur and investor. Thank you for the shoutout Protonic Partners! It’s wonderful to work with founders and investors who realize that culture is not about pingpong tables and free beer but is hardcore business strategy that lead to sustainable growth and business success. #culture #startups #leadership #growth Shifter.no Corporate Spring
We’re thrilled to see our Partner, Michel Sagen, featured in Shifter.no, a leading Norwegian business newspaper focused on startups and innovation. In this interview, Michel discusses a subject that resonates deeply with us: the crucial role of company culture in scaling a business. We've consistently prioritized this in companies we’ve been part of founding ourselves, Videxio / Pexip, and we actively champion it within our portfolio companies, including Novorender and Muybridge. Our go-to expert and longstanding inspiration in this area is Annicken R. Day and her company, Corporate Spring. Her insights have significantly shaped our approach over the years. P.S. A big thank you to Daniel Caetanya Fossum for organizing last week’s COO Summit, where Michel had the opportunity to share his thoughts on this important topic. 🚀 Startup Grind never disappoints with its events! Their latest fireside chat on achieving a 9-figure exit was a masterclass for every ambitious founding team. While many #entrepreneurs aspire to wealth, the journey is often full of challenges. The key takeaway? Success starts with a strong, aligned team that shares a clear #vision — whether that #vision is to exit, IPO, or stay private... 🌱 It’s a reminder that no matter how rocky the road gets, having the right people and #focus makes all the difference.
🔥 Founder Alignment: A Critical Key to Startup Success 🔥 Listening to the brilliant fireside chat with Alfie Whattam and Michia Rohrssen, the founder of Prodigy Software Inc. (which he sold for an incredible $110M), reinforced a key principle in startups: founder alignment. At least 7 out of 10 companies I test with ETA Technologies face the same challenge — some founders aim for a lucrative exit, while others have their sights set on an IPO. They’re in the same boat but rowing in opposite directions. 🚤🚤 It’s a critical reminder for founders to ensure alignment from day one. Without a unified vision, even the most promising team can find itself adrift. 🌊 The event was fantastic, and I had the pleasure of connecting with inspiring individuals during the networking session like Sinem Eser, Kanoj Vora, Leo Umanskiy, Alex Watt, Wale Adedeji, John Kiely, Alper Musaoglu, Shivan S. Fatania, Sonia Kaurah, Maurizio Abba, Hartej Sanhotra, Morten Jessen, Christiaan H. Vleminckx and Mike Adams. A huge shoutout to the Startup Grind team — Sam Adekunle, Gabriel Pizzolante and James Lethem — for hosting such a valuable experience! 🙌

"4 years ago today, Seaworthy Collective launched with our first panel event. Since then, we've supported 5 cohorts, 40 startups, and 78 entrepreneurs, while hosting over 50 additional events from our Sea Change Makers Panel Series to the Miami Climate Happy Hour, and more collaborative events from the Miami International Boat Show to New York Climate Week. We've engaged almost 5,000 people with BlueTech and seen our community and ecosystem grow year over year, from only 10% regional representation in our first 2 cohorts to 50%+ across cohorts 3, 4, and now 5. From the 1000 Ocean Startups Coalition to Prince Albert II of Monaco, we've received global recognition and made waves in making BlueTech more accessible and inclusive, with now more than 70% of Seaworthy entrepreneurs coming from underrepresented backgrounds, who have gone on to raise over $10 million and counting in grants and investments. The path ahead has never been clearer, and we couldn't be more confident in the depth of systemic change we're driving for a regenerative future for the Blue Economy!"- Daniel Kleinman.
