Modern society relies on efficient wastewater treatment processes. Here is one of such stories where our solutions can really help achieve that.
Electric self-priming pump and energy storage system transform operations at Schladming wastewater treatment plant in Austria 💧 🍃 The local authorities wanted to future-proof the #wastewater treatment plant. In collaboration with Häny Austria GmbH, they were able to meet the plant's sustainability goals by using an #AtlasCopco ZBP energy storage system and an E PAS electric pump. 📢 “We recognise that more customers than ever are looking for ways to improve their #sustainability and lower environmental impacts. The Schladming plant has been able to increase the efficiency of its wastewater treatment processes while getting a step closer to achieving full #energy self-sufficiency.” - Jörg Habener, Business Development Manager at Atlas Copco 🎬 Want to watch the full story? https://bit.ly/4b9nASK

My colleague SIMON PRENDERGAST and I attended the Electricity Engineers' Association of New Zealand Conference at Te Pae, Christchurch last week - our first! It was inspiring to see the incredible innovation and mahi from our Electricity Distribution Businesses (EDBs) while also aligning with the challenges of building a sustainable, resilient infrastructure. The next 5 to 10 years will be pivotal for strategic asset management. An electric future is critical to Aotearoa New Zealand achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and it’s essential to keep our people front and centre on this road to decarbonisation. As New Zealand's only Toitū Envirocare, Net Zero Recycling provider for end-of-life energy assets from generation to distribution, we’re prepped and ready to provide our range of services as the nation upgrades to meet increasing electrical demand. This was my first EEA Conference, and it was a great opportunity to connect in person with many CEOs, directors, project managers, and asset and supply planners from across New Zealand. We also discussed opportunities with other EDBs and energy asset owners. We value our existing clients immensely and take on a product stewardship role on their behalf, diverting end-of-life Energy assets from landfill and back into the circular economy throughout New Zealand. If you’d like to join us or learn more, feel free to reach out here on LinkedIn, email me directly (julian@pmrnz.co.nz), or check out our Energy sector services at https://lnkd.in/gpVU3d_b. Let us do what we do well ensuring you are able to do what you do well! At #USC today with #LABC listening to an impressive panel from Port of Los Angeles, #Prologis, LADWP, METRANS Transportation Consortia USC expertly moderated by @EvanHalper from The Washington Post. Key takeaways: learn from #Prologis who have invested in renewable energy while they wait for LADWP to connect with their EV infrastructure. Watch the progress at Port of Los Angeles as they achieve many ‘firsts’ not just for California but nationally. And at Maersk whose cargo ship travelled 16 days on Green Methanol from Copenhagen to Los Angeles. There are barriers, there need to be policy reforms - in order for LADWP to reach their clean energy goals. https://lnkd.in/g8CJ9UGT

Econowind #VentoFoils fitted to gas carrier Shipping company Anthony Veder has announced the installation of two #Econowind VentoFoil sails on board the ethylene carrier Coral Patula. “In our sustainable roadmap, we have set the ambitious target of becoming a net-zero emitter by 2035,” explained Björn van de Weerdhof, commercial and sustainability director at Anthony Veder. “Achieving this goal requires action today ... Wind-assisted propulsion is a key step in this effort, and our collaboration with Econowind reflects the strength of our partnerships." “Anthony Veder conducted a thorough analysis before selecting the VentoFoils, including an advanced business case calculation balancing benefits and realistic costs,” added Rens Groot, chief operations officer at Econowind. “This allowed us to see key advantages, such as speed increases for gas carriers, where VentoFoils help offset engine power limitations." 🚚✨ We are excited to present the latest publication on the results from the #ELISA project! The eHighway system leads to measurable savings in directly emitted greenhouse gases from road freight transport. 🌍 In particular, the electricity mix plays a crucial role in determining the greenhouse gas emissions of overhead contact line trucks (O-trucks). 🔌 As a snapshot from our publication on the first generation of O-trucks shows, using 100% renewable electricity, an overhead contact line infrastructure of 30 km, and a battery capacity of 18.5 kWh, a well-to-wheel emissions reduction of approximately 70% is achievable. 📉 Do you want to know more? 📚 Our paper, "Impact of an eHighway on the directly emitted greenhouse gases by road freight transport," was recently published in #TransportPolicy. Our publication considers data from over 500,000 kilometers evaluated, covered by the first-generation overhead line trucks up to mid-2022 in real-world operations. 🚛 The article is available at: https://lnkd.in/ekiSquyJ
