In a society where the strength of a man is often measured by his independence and solitude, the Modern Wisdom Podcast sheds light on a starkly contrasting truth: the necessity of male camaraderie for mental and physical well-being. Featuring insights into Robin Dunbar's study, this episode tackles the silent crisis of male loneliness, a significant factor behind the distressing rates of male suicide. The study's recommendation? Two "guy nights" per week as a remedy to the isolation many men face. https://lnkd.in/dD5fmWWY

***A bit about Mania*** I had episodes... this is a small part of the Bonus Section of "Target Your Emotions".... I still have some on some stories....but they aren't so bothersome. ---- "Mania can be a state with Anxiety; it can accompany other issues as well, such as a part of Bipolar Disorder or simply as an occasional state of excited mental activity. “That is Mania Charge” worked great for me. I was caught up in a “grandiose scheme” and really going to town thinking about “how rich I would become”, and I realized this was “Manic Thinking”…I did that as my realization with the technique …I lost interest…stopped thinking about it for months… worked…if you have that problem, give it a try. You have nothing to lose. Look at the manic episode, use that phrase or other realizations, see if it works." ---- This was over a ten year project. I had a fixation on emergency power, got real obsessed with it. It was anxiety based. But I realized it was a manic episode. It lifted the fixation, obsession and compulsive thinking about the project. Are you obsessed with something? Maybe think of it as a Mania. My podcast on OCD issues: https://lnkd.in/gCjCUm3r Ebook teaches technique: https://lnkd.in/gSbdvdWu I hope you find that helpful. Some people have obsession to drive their motivation ... but that too may be a problem.

I enjoyed speaking with Jodie Stevens on the "Genuine Life Recovery" podcast. Jodie asked some great questions, and we had an excellent discussion on the multi-faceted approach to addiction treatment and the fact that there is never a single direction or solution. We also discussed different types of therapies, spirituality, the importance of setting boundaries, and how knowing your value is crucial to healing. You can check out the podcast (#130) on various platforms like Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and others. #treatment #addictionrecovery #awareness #addictionadvocacy #treatmentoptions #recoveryispossible https://lnkd.in/g7_WBJ-P https://lnkd.in/g-DUsZAu https://lnkd.in/gxkrVC2s

𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 𝟐 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭'𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 Welcome to a personal story of resilience. I’m sharing my journey of overcoming pornography addiction, something I recently opened up about on the "How to Heart" podcast. My hope is that this story brings insight and support to those who need it most. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞 & 𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭. What began as a curiosity became a daily habit that controlled my life and affected my self-esteem and relationships. My addiction led me to emotional detachment, as real intimacy faded into the background. 𝐀 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭. My recovery began when I finally admitted my struggle. Seeking help was tough but necessary, opening the door to change and self-acceptance. Therapy, support groups, and healthier habits helped me reclaim my life and relationships. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. One of the biggest lessons has been realizing that vulnerability is strength. By opening up, I’ve connected with others who understand, reminding us all that we’re not alone. If you or someone you know is facing similar struggles, remember—help is out there. Together, let’s break the stigma and create a world where open dialogue brings healing. Last April, Jennie Karnish MS, LPCC and Sara Livingston-Burke, LPCC joined our podcast episode to discuss the impact of #infertility on one's mental health, the stigma that exists, and how to support clients or loved ones struggling with infertility. Since it's #NationalInfertilityAwarenessWeek, I felt like it was important to re-share this episode in hopes that it helps some people feel less alone or better equipped to support others. If this is something that you're personally struggling with, I hope this conversation helps to normalize your feelings, and I hope that you feel care for and supported this week. https://lnkd.in/gHqZ6e2n
