Great insights on the importance of moving slow to go fast.
As July comes to a close, a theme that has emerged from the dozen or so strategic plans/frameworks we have built with #associations and #organizations is a strong base of value with the opportunity in the coming cycle to build off of forced changes in early 2020's to intentional #change in the mid-2020's. This article, on intentional (and slow) starts to change to ensure that they sustain contains many of the approaches that I see reflected in successful organizations and leaders: https://lnkd.in/eVhEZpi9 Change is rarely easy, often filled with set backs that are learning experiences and opportunities to engage new audiences and partners along the way. It can also mean shaking the rust off of long held structures and practices. A strategic framework should give vision, priority, and direction - change management will be what takes the places of different and makes then a reality. #strategy #CEO #leadership

do you lead/manage Gen Zers at work? go see #InsideOut2 immediately and learn about 'ennui'. #ennui is a French word for #boredom, especially the feeling of jadedness resulting from living a life of too much ease. sound familiar? let's talk about. is it time to redesign roles at #work based on psychology and throw out traditional #orgcharts? https://lnkd.in/gm3JJPUY #orgdesign #organizationaldesign #atwork #leadership #peopleops

This is so true... I spend a lot of time on business planning — thinking about the future of the business, our clients, creative opportunities, margins, culture, training, accounting… the list goes on. But I saw this today in a shop window in London, and it really struck home: "Quality is the best business plan." Thanks, John Lasseter. « Large, established organizations should expand their definition of effective leadership. If they were to do that, several things might happen, including the disappearance of the glass ceiling and the creation of a wider path for all sorts of executives—men and women—to attain positions of leadership. Widening the path will free potential leaders to lead in ways that play to their individual strengths. Then the newly recognized interactive leadership style can be valued and rewarded as highly as the command-and-control style has been for decades. By valuing a diversity of leadership styles, organizations will find the strength and flexibility to survive in a highly competitive, increasingly diverse economic environment. » Ways women lead, Harvard Business Review, Nov-Dec 1990 #internationalwomensday2024 #diversityandinclusion #empatheticleadership https://lnkd.in/e4mDPmXW

Pixar's Braintrust fosters creativity by providing creators with an environment where they receive candid feedback from peers. This allows teams to refine their work and elevate it to new heights. Unlike some agencies and studios that rely on the same Creative Directors for feedback, Pixar's system utilizes diverse perspectives, potentially leading to undisputed blockbusters. This raises the question: who is better suited to provide feedback – peers or senior leaders? We have a point of view – join the discussion on the-wei.com.
