It's no coincidence that May is both National Pet Month and Mental Health Awareness Month 💖 Let's paws 🐾 for a moment to recognize how pets are creating positive mental health changes in the lives of their owners. Pets offer companionship by keeping their owners physically active and influencing their social, emotional and mental well-being. Studies suggest that the presence of cats and dogs can help relieve stress. Even petting an animal for a few minutes a day could provide emotional support — the action helps regulate heart rate, blood pressure and the stress-relieving hormone cortisol. Attachment to an animal can even increase oxytocin levels, alleviate pain and distress, and decrease feelings of depression, loneliness and anxiety. With workplaces focusing more on wellness initiatives in 2024, consider the healing power of pets and #petfriendly perks that can directly impact the emotional wellbeing of your employees. Check back in a couple of weeks to download your copy of our upcoming case study on The Power of Pets 🐶🐱 #mentalhealthawareness #petsforwellness #workplacewellness #employeebenefits #petperks #petfriendlyoffice #hrprofessionals

🌟 The month of May is focused on Cultivating Kindness and Fostering Wellness 🌟 As we embrace Mental Health Awareness Month, YIPT stands in solidarity with the Canadian Mental Health Association’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Week, held between May 6th to 12th, 2024, "A Call to Be Kind." 💙 In the fast-paced world of insurance, it's easy to overlook the importance of kindness—both towards others and ourselves. But amidst the deadlines and demands, it's essential to cultivate a culture of compassion and empathy. Kindness isn't just a nicety; it's a powerful force for promoting mental wellness. A kind word, a listening ear, or a simple act of support can make a world of difference to someone struggling with their mental health. This month, let's make a conscious effort to prioritize kindness in our interactions. Whether it's checking in on a colleague, offering a word of encouragement, or practicing self-compassion, every act of kindness contributes to creating a more supportive and inclusive workplace. Together, let's break the stigma surrounding mental health and foster a culture where kindness thrives. Join us in spreading kindness and raising awareness using #YIPTKindnessMatters. Let's make a positive impact, one kind gesture at a time. 💫 Remember, kindness begins with each of us. Let's answer the call and create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, we can make a difference. 💙 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #YIPT #BeKind

🧠 Mental Health Awareness Week 🧠 At Regale Microwave Ovens Limited, we recognise that our greatest asset is our people. As #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek is now upon us, we want to reaffirm our commitment to prioritising the wellbeing of our employees and the wider industry. In the fast-paced world of foodservice and hospitality, we understand the unique challenges that our industry in particular faces. From demanding schedules to high-pressure environments, long hours and irregular shifts, the impact on mental health cannot be underestimated and we encourage employers to work with team members to prioritise self-care and seek assistance when needed. As an industry, we have a duty to break the stigma surrounding mental health and create spaces for open dialogue and support in workplaces across the UK. Together, we can break down barriers, raise awareness, and build a culture of compassion and understanding. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #EmployeeWellbeing #Foodservice #Hospitality #WorkplaceWellness

The festive season is a time of joy, but it can also bring unique challenges for mental health. While some of us may be surrounded by family, laughter, and celebration, others may feel overwhelmed, lonely, or under pressure. At iPac, we encourage everyone to consider the below to help support their co workers 💚Be Kind: A simple smile or kind word can make a huge difference. 💚Check In: Reach out to someone who might need a little extra care—a simple “How are you?” can mean so much. 💚Set Boundaries: It’s okay to say no to plans that feel too much—your well-being comes first. 💚 Ask for Help: If you’re finding it hard, speak to someone you trust or reach out to a professional. iPac offer an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), via Bupa ,which is avaible for all iPac employees and their families. This incredible resource provides emotional support, advice, and guidance. I’ve personally seen how much it has helped members of our team, and I would definitely encourage other business owners to consider offering an EAP if they haven't already! Be kind this Christmas ♥️ #EAP #MENTALHEALTH #IPAC
