Supporting the UNSDG of Good Health and Wellbeing, Mercury proudly participated in the Clash of the Companies event in aid of Children’s Health Foundation earlier this year. Our amazing team of five joined the Dublin business community for a fun, clue-solving adventure, testing teamwork and problem-solving skills—all while raising funds and awareness for sick children attending Irish hospitals and urgent care centres. As a key sponsor, Mercury donated €8,000 to this incredible initiative. This contribution helps provide cutting-edge life-saving equipment for faster diagnosis and better outcomes, as well as vital psychological supports for children and their families during challenging times. We’re proud to support organisations like the Children's Health Foundation, playing our part in creating healthier, stronger communities wherever we operate. 🌍❤️

We don’t like to be predictable. Most people think environmental charity = trees, and here we are posting a picture of a tree... 😔 But here’s why it’s different! We’ve worked on many campaigns that rethink green spaces. What they’re for, where they are, how they’re designed and by who. All with the aim to increase access to nature for communities who need it. We know nature is essential for our physical and mental health, and here’s the evidence. Last year the Greener Communities Fund launched to connect NHS Charities across the UK with the funds to develop or create green spaces for hospital staff, patients and visitors. Most of us feel better after spending time outdoors, but these green spaces, designed to respond to the communities who need them, will be able to provide even more value, supporting recovery and providing much needed relaxation and healing. Swipe to see just a few of the ideas that were funded, and what this could look like: Like the sound of that? Stay following - we’ve got more coming from the Greener Communities campaign soon! #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

On the first day of a new government and the 76th birthday of the NHS it’s time to start having some grown up conversations with our communities, our public sector workforce and our politicians. We know there are huge waiting lists. We know the workforce is under extreme pressure. We know that funding is big issue. We know a lot of the NHS estate is not fit for purpose. We also know that we can’t solve these problems and truly innovate in the NHS without working with social care and the voluntary sector to truly address the issues our communities face when it comes to health and wellbeing. We can’t have conversations in isolation and we can’t “fix” the NHS if we don’t address what’s happening with social care and charities. Let’s start talking about how we can do the best with what we’ve got, in true partnership across all sectors and start to help everyone understand some of the challenges and engage in the choices that will need to be made.

In Harrow, countless families, children, and young people receive vital support during times of crisis. They also receive access to opportunities that help improve their lives, help children thrive and give them the best start in life. However, with increasing pressure on some the services we deliver, the NHS, family hubs and charities, we recognise the need to do more. This week we launched our enhanced Team Around the Family (TAF) model which brings together our partners and a continued commitment to ensure no family falls through the gaps or are left behind. It was great to have professionals, our partner agencies, voluntary sector and health services come together to celebrate this milestone. This multi-agency model gives support to families with emerging needs identified by professionals. Our renewed focus strengthens our ability to intervene early, preventing issues from escalating into crises. This also allows more accessible support to empower families to thrive - building stronger, resilient communities. Linked to these are our Family Hub Networks (FHNs) where families receive the right support, at the right time and at the right place. And also our Harrow Family Front Door (FFD) - a digital tool designed to create a simpler, more accessible way for professionals and families to request early help and support. Further details on these will be made available soon. A huge thanks and well done to our colleagues involved in this.
