We often talk about helping others and making a positive impact in the world, yet fail to apply these values at home. We encourage donations, but negotiate every penny with the vegetable vendor or rickshaw driver, or question our spouse about minor expenses. We tell ourselves to be kind, yet sometimes lose patience and show anger toward our children, our husband, or our wife. We may go to temples, mosques, and gurudwaras, doing seva as a symbol of service, but overlook the importance of helping within our own homes, leaving household chores to our partner without offering support. We say we’re against violence, yet lose control with our loved ones, raising our voice or even our hand, expecting obedience but forgetting respect. It’s easy to preach kindness, generosity, and compassion, but how often do we practice it in our most personal spaces? True change must start within. Imagine the difference if, instead of only speaking these values, we lived them out daily. Begin by supporting your partner, speaking kindly to your children, and being fair with everyone you encounter. Teach kindness by example, showing your family what it means to be understanding and patient. Real transformation doesn’t come from grand gestures alone but from small, consistent acts of integrity at home. When we embody these values within our families, we inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect that can change the world. . . #LeadByExample #ChangeStartsAtHome #ValuesInAction #EmpathyInAction #FamilyFirst #IntegrityMatters #PracticeWhatYouPreach #SmallActsBigImpact #KindnessStartsWithUs #BuildABetterWorld #BeTheChange #MindfulLiving #RespectAndSupport #EmpowerThroughKindness

Better Decisions Counseling needs donations for its new transitional house. It does not have to be money. It can be furniture, especially bedroom and living room furniture, dishes, bathroom items, or whatever extra you have lying around your house. Even clothing or shoes. Bring the donations to the office of Better Decisions Counseling located at 10366 Rockingham Drive, Sacramento, CA 95827. You can also call (916)368-0700 if you know someone who needs help from Better Decisions Counseling with counseling. The house will be a 12-bed transitional house for individuals or couples getting a second chance at life and a helping hand back into normal society. People who were once homeless addicts especially those who were justice-involved, could use your help as mentors. #donate #volunteer #love #helpingothers #homelesspeople #helpthehomeless #help #support #givebacktothecommunity #housing #HopeAndHealing #mentalhealth #homelessoutreach #socialjustice #homelessawareness #street #homelessshelter #hunger

Let’s make some memories and get Homeless Street Angels back on the Road 🙏 For years, the Homeless Street Angels have been a lifeline for those experiencing homelessness, providing food, clothing, and support on the streets of Leeds. Their ford transit van was not just a vehicle—it was hope on wheels, bringing comfort to those in desperate need. ❤️ But now, that hope is parked indefinitely. The van is out of commission, and the streets are colder without the Angels’ vital support. 💔 We Need Your Help 💔 Link below 👇 please give what you can 🙏 If we can come together as a LinkedIn community, we can get the Angels back on the road where they belong. Whether it’s a donation, a connection to someone who can provide a van, or even spreading this message to your networks—every action matters. 🙏 Let’s show that the power of LinkedIn extends far beyond business, and into the heart of our communities. If you or your company has a ford transit van, or if you know of anyone who can help, please get in touch. Together, we can keep hope alive for those who need it most. #HomelessStreetAngels #CommunitySupport #LinkedInForGood #DonateNow #MakeADifference Becky Joyce Shelley Joyce Juliette Booth Redline Specialist Cars

For many years, we have had the privilege of donating warm winter clothes to children in need, and one truth has remained constant: when a child receives something as simple as a warm jacket, it’s not just about the physical warmth—it’s about experiencing true compassion from a caring stranger. In a world where too many young lives are shaped by difficult and heartbreaking circumstances, we at Hands Across Atlanta strive to do more than just provide essential resources. We bring hope to children across the state, offering them a sense of emotional security and the knowledge that someone truly cares. When considering your support for an organization, ask yourself: what is the deeper purpose of giving? Is it just to meet an immediate need, or is it to extend a gesture of kindness that will stay with a child for years to come? We can never fully know the battles others are facing, but we can choose to be a force for good in their lives. By partnering with us, you can help deliver warmth and compassion to children who need it most. If you haven’t yet, we invite you to join us in this mission. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young ones. The people that our local community kitchens support are not just "homeless people". Community kitchens and food banks are the back bones of our community that support all those in need of support. Many of our nations veterans and elders, children and hardworking single parents use the kitchen to fill the gaps. Not only fill the gaps, but for some the weekly food boxes and nightly meals are all they have to survive. With rising costs of living with everything from the gas we use to go to work, to the boots we pull ourselves up with food kitchens are in demand. The demand is something that is hard to keep up with on fixed budgets and limited donations. In the coming weeks that demand will increase as youth will be home more as school lets out. The meals once provided in the school system now fall on the already stretched budgets of the average American household. Lets do what we can to empower and have compassion to gain awareness about who uses the food kitchens and what we can do to help. Even if it's just slinging a few boxes of tomatoes to help out during a deliver. It is a step. #giveback #volunteer #communitywork #foodpantry #careergrowth #personalgrowth #investment #leadership #communityleadership #leadershipdevelopment

🧽🪣🛏🧸 Just in time for Mother's Day and spring cleaning, today is National Clean Up Your Room Day! Children often dread this parent-appreciated day. Though, some years like this one, the observance arrives with perfect timing for Mother's Day! However, the observance doesn't only target kids. It is also about picking up, straightening up, and cleaning up the whole house. Adults take spring cleaning seriously, and homes get aired out. They organize, de-clutter, and rearrange. It's time to fix the broken and match up missing parts, like with like. We tackle cluttered closets and donate or throw away those things we no longer use. Take time today to help your children make their beds, clean their rooms, and eliminate the toys and clothing they have outgrown. #May10 #CleanUpYourRoomDay #PeterDeLuca #TucsonsREALTOR #LongRealtyCompany

Check out this Vox article to learn about one organization's new approach to tackling homelessness amid our ongoing housing crisis. From 2012 to 2016, Mandy Chapman Semple reduced Houston’s homelessness rate by 60%. Her strategy? Using private donations to help finance things like apartment hold fees, application fees, security deposits, and furniture. Or in simpler terms, using flexible private dollars to incentivize landlords, making it easier to move unhoused people into apartments. Read the full story here: https://bit.ly/4ehnhrF

Our friends @Justlife carried out research into women’s experiences of homelessness in Brighton & Hove. It’s a story of domestic violence, unhealthy relationships, complex feelings around motherhood and lack of basic safety while in temporary accommodation. We’re fundraising this week to create a year-long programme of free dance classes with and for women who have experienced homelessness. Everything you donate before midday on Tuesday 26 March will be doubled by @BigGive here: https://lnkd.in/e5jSDYD3 Thankyou 🙏 #ArtsForImpact #homelessness #danceforwellbeing #womeninrecovery #fundraising #Brighton&Hove Video description: A video showing roads, streets and cars with text about three things you might not know about temporary accommodation: - it's often not temporary. The shortage in social housing means people can wait years for their own home - living conditions can be poor. Common complaints include damp, overcrowding, infestations and feeling unsafe - people in temporary accommodation are often not considered homeless because they have a roof over their heads

As the snow falls outside, let's take a moment to reflect on the stark reality faced by those experiencing homelessness during this winter storm. For many, preparing for a snowstorm means securing shelter, warmth, and provisions. But for those without homes, it's a chilling struggle for survival against the elements. Each snowflake serves as a reminder of the biting cold and the constant battle for warmth. The latest statistics show that the homeless rate is expected to rise for the third year in a row. Despite efforts, the number of individuals facing homelessness continues to increase, exacerbated by the ongoing effects of the pandemic and rising living costs. As you cozy up indoors, consider the impact you can make in the lives of those less fortunate. Your donations can provide vital support to our Homeless Outreach Team, enabling them to connect vulnerable individuals with essential resources, offering shelter, compassion, and dignity.
