2024 has been a year of incredible growth for Merge, both in our customer base and product. We’re proud to call numerous industry leaders new Merge customers — BambooHR, Deluxe, and hundreds more. But reflecting back, it’s hard to believe how much better we’ve also made the Merge product. This year, we: - Launched numerous enterprise-grade security features (I personally built Audit Trail and still haven’t shut up about it internally) - Made syncs several times faster through concurrency, data storage specialization, and numerous features for filtering out unnecessary data - Released translations of the Merge product in several languages - Lowered average latency below 300ms even for the largest response bodies - Deployed over 1,500 improvements to our ever-expanding collection of over 250 integrations - Launched dozens of features that work for all integrations Thank you to all of our customers and partners for a great year. We’re so excited to show you what’s coming in 2025! Check out my co-founder Shensi Ding-Lopez’s great 2024 recap: https://lnkd.in/dhuugtJX

As 2024 comes to a close, here's a few moments, milestones, and learnings that shaped our year at Freedman International - proud of these! 1. "International Campaigns Without the Pain" Launching our fresh positioning earlier in the year brought clarity to our purpose, allowing us to rally around the value we ultimately deliver, resonating with clients and the team alike. From our LinkedIn Live sessions to a refreshed newsletter and video content, it’s been brilliant to see it come to life. 2. Team Ethos in Action Amazing team spirit at the company where we showed our “team ethos” is not just words on paper, it’s how we operate. And this year proved that. 3. Team growth Seeing so many people step up into new roles and welcoming fresh talent to the team has also been a real highlight. I'm proud of every one of them. 4. Staying Sharp on AI Without the Hype AI was everywhere, but we didn’t get distracted. We ran pilots, figured out what works, and built expertise. Innovation and experimentation are vital but not at the expense of delivery. This is why we'll never be on the bleeding edge of tech - our priority is to make it happen and get it right for our clients. 5. Covent Garden Office continues to be a great decision We signed the lease on this office mid-Covid. Big call, but it’s continued to pay off. Great space for clients and allows us to attract great team members. 6. Agile & Scalable Operations Our operational model worked exactly as it should. Agile, scalable, with the right plug and play tech solutions, in the right places. Simple as that. Big thanks to our incredible Freedman team, our wonderful clients, and partners for making 2024 a success. Interested to hear your biggest learning from this year? Let me know below.

10th anniversary year of DataArt's presence in LatAm - post by Eugen Goland "Recognizing the strategic importance of Mexico as a mature outsourcing destination in Latin America, we recently established a subsidiary in Monterrey. This will enable us to offer local full-time employment and contracting, facilitate closer collaboration with our Mexican clients, and serve as a strategic nearshore outsourcing hub for the U.S. The subsidiary functions as our R&D and sales headquarters in LatAm and is the cornerstone of our strategy to deepen our commitment to the region, tapping into Mexico’s rich talent pool and robust economic landscape. Mexico is the biggest IT outsourcing market in LatAm and one of the leading exporters of IT globally, with annual exports surpassing $21 billion", – writes @Eugen Goland, СEO at @DataArt in his post about 10th anniversary year of DataArt's presence in LatAm https://lnkd.in/dipX_dht #DataArt #LaTam #Team #IT
I recently visited our Buenos Aires location, and it was so rewarding to spend time with the local team. I’m grateful for their hospitality and curiosity and the open conversations we had. I look forward to visiting our Latin American locations again soon. In this 10th anniversary year of DataArt's presence in LatAm, I’d like to thank Marcos Mauro, Nicolas Rausch, Brian Teper, German Rozo, Maria Celeste Gentilini, Julieta Williams, Julieta López and the rest of our amazing team and to reflect on our journey thus far. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 Our foray into LatAm began with a strategic decision to diversify from Eastern and Central Europe amidst geopolitical tensions arising from Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014. The acquisition of AW Systems, a web engineering and consulting firm with a presence in Buenos Aires, marked our entry into the region. Allan Wellenstein and Alistair Wandesforde, the founders of AW Systems, joined DataArt’s senior management and continue to bring invaluable expertise to our consulting and solution design arm. 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 Initially envisioned as a production center, our LatAm operations expanded beyond its original scope. A pivotal partnership with Rappi, one of the region's fastest-growing tech unicorns, catalyzed this growth. This engagement doubled our LatAm headcount in 3 years and shifted our operational focus from solely production to dynamic client engagement across the region. From a modest 7-person team to a powerhouse of over 400 engineers spanning Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico, the Latin American region has become central to our operations. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐲, 𝐌𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐜𝐨 Recognizing the strategic importance of Mexico as a mature outsourcing destination in Latin America, we recently established a subsidiary in Monterrey. Mexico is the biggest IT outsourcing market in LatAm and one of the leading exporters of IT globally, with annual exports surpassing $21 billion. According to the 2022 Pentalog report, Mexico occupies the top position for C/C++ and Python programming and ranks second in overall developer qualifications globally. The Mexican government has been extremely supportive of the IT industry, creating 20 tech parks, and establishing 120 tuition-free tech universities to promote STEM education. Mexico has a talent pool of approximately 700,000 programmers, and Mexican universities graduate more than 130,000 computer science students a year.

It is very easy to overestimate the long term ROI of paying top of the market. Building intrinsic motivation costs you zilch but generates far better and more sustainable results.
This Forbes article on low productivity : high payroll demonstrates the importance of deliberately building a high engagement, high performance team for startups. 💫 ⬆️ Yes, sometimes you need to pay in excess to acquire from a narrow talent pool but that will not automatically give you the right to win. Founders must understand what it takes to create a culture where people are highly engaged and in turn, deliver the best work of their lives. 🚀 This requires a relentless focus on things like: ... Founders showing genuine care and interest in their people and hearing their ideas and concerns 🙏 ... Selecting the people who are most passionate and excited about your mission during recruiting efforts ❤️🔥 ... A conscious and intentional approach to individual performance and growth 📈 ... A clear mapping between your company goals and individual KPIs / OKRs 🎯

Ditch the Quick Fix: How Long-Term Tech Teams Save You Money and Headaches 🧗♂️ In today's digital world, technology and IT are the backbone of any thriving business — there is no debate about that. Technology is essential, but rushing into IT initiatives without a solid strategy is a recipe for disaster. Many companies fail not because they lack understanding but because managers lack a well-defined plan. Instead, they rush to meetings, hastily define needs, and scramble for developers through headhunters or (nearshoring) agencies. My suggestion: - Take a deep breath. - Step back. - Invest the energy to craft a strategic plan aligning technology solutions with your business goals. You don't need a revolving door of developers. Instead, you need a long-term approach. To succeed, you need three things: 💡 1) A clear long-term vision of your value proposition for your clients and employees. 2) A plan to attract and keep tech experts who deeply resonate with your vision. 3) A solid approach to creating a strong, passionate team that, by heart, wants to turn your strategy into reality. At rindus, we achieve this through a sustainable and strategic approach: - Long-Term Stability: We globally recruit tech experts committed to your long-term success, not just the next project milestone. - Clear Focus: Through our solid and intense onboarding approach, our team members become a vital part of your operations, with well-defined roles and a shared vision. - Minimal Technical Debt: Due to the long-term nature of our collaboration, our team members intrinsically prioritize sustainable software development practices, reducing the need for costly rework down the line. - Reduced Slack: Efficient onboarding and ongoing support mean more time spent on what matters – achieving your goals. --- Our clients (we call them "partners") reap the benefits of this long-term approach: - Strategic Perspective: With stable, long-term teams, you can tackle large-scale challenges without being bogged down by daily emergencies. - Cost Efficiency: Our expertise in hiring (with Hiring Experts like Julián Villanueva or Mireya Mela Viaga), onboarding, and retaining talent (with amazing Team Captains personalities like María Mojarro, Gloria Millán J. or Sergio Pachón) means we do it faster and more efficiently, making our long-term approach cost-effective. - Innovation and Learning: Long-term team stability fosters excellent knowledge sharing and continuous learning, driving innovation. Do you want to avoid the chaos and inefficiency of short-term, resource-driven technology development? Are you curious about how our partners have thrived with our approach? #softwareengineering #humanresources #leadership #futureofwork #digitaltransformation
