Hello everyone, today we're going to explore how to use the Measure Thickness tool to identify thin areas in your 3D models. Ensuring that your model meets your 3D printers resolution is crucial to avoid failed prints. The Measure Thickness tool helps to spot any thin areas to get the most accurate results. It's essential to ensure that your model has enough vertices for measurement. So we will visualize the edges and use the subdivide feature. Models with fewer vertices, like those exported from CAD, should be rematched for better precision when using the tool. To get started, navigate to the search bar and activate Measure Thickness tool. We are going to start with the rays method. This method shoots rays from the surface of your model and measures the distance between opposite sides. It's a fast and efficient approach for simple geometries. Set the required thickness for your 3D printer and the enough thickness parameter. As you adjust the parameter, you'll see the color map change dynamically. Green areas represent safe zones, while red and yellow indicates thinner regions. You can check the meaning of each color in the progress bar. Now let's switch to the newly introduced spheres method. This calculates thickness by finding the largest sphere that can fit between two surfaces, which is particularly useful for complex models with internal structures. The spheres method provides a more accurate representation for internal geometries, making sure that even the most detailed areas of your model meet the necessary specifications. You can also use the tools quick Features. Clicking on any surface lets you get an instant measurement. And with quick buttons, you can identify the thinnest and thickest parts of the model to spot areas that need fixing. Once you've identified those zones, you can use mesh inspectors, other tools to make adjustments and ensure your model is ready for successful 3D printing. Thanks for watching.
