Air Products Recognised for Safety Performance Across 49 Sites in Europe by the European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA). In total, 49 Air Products facilities received safety awards, including the company’s hydrogen facility in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). Other sites such as Aberdeen and Bargeddie (Scotland), alongside Litvinov (the Czech Republic), Stade (Germany), Głogów (Poland) and Tres Cantos (Spain) all received prestigious Gold 2 Star Awards. This top award recognizes either 25 years+ or 2,000,000 worked hours without a recordable employee or contractor accident. Commenting on the achievement, Ivo Bols, President of Europe and Africa, stated: "Receiving these awards is a testament to our company’s culture of safety and the hard work of our people across Europe. We are dedicated to ensuring a safe working environment and continuously improving our safety performance. 🚧 Industry Insight: Facing Acetyls Market Troubles Last week, Celanese, the largest acetyl manufacturer, announced a force majeure on their acetic acid supply, signaling potential price increases and shortages. 🌐 🔹 Force Majeure? Force majeure is an unexpected event, like severe weather, that disrupts production. 🌧️ 🔹 Why Now? Texas faced severe storms and flooding last month, similar to the force majeure 3 years ago that caused price hikes. ❄️ 🔹 Should consumers care? Acetyls are core in making cosmetics, personal and home care products, clothing, medicine, and construction materials. Delays and shortages will drive up prices before products reach you. 💄🏗️ 🔹 Big picture? Price-dumping of acetyls has been seen in Europe and the US, with overstocked material from China. This has different price tags: 1. A huge carbon footprint from coal-based production. 🌍 2.
