As an independent RFG Advisory advisor who has worked with Shannon Spotswood for many years, I can tell you that CMC Financial is pumped about the direction of our firm! We are super excited about the opportunities we have to help clients on a deeper level and to help them achieve all of their goals and objectives! #comprehensivesolutions#financialplanning
We are very encouraged by this shift in the narrative around overheads.
As an agency we are often seen as an “overhead” in the fundraising sector more than being recognised as experts in our field. As such there are a lot of preconceptions about the value of outsourcing programs for NFPs .
We think about the many conversations we’ve had with fundraisers who claim to know what their donors think about overheads. But is this really what donors think? How much of this is a subjective bias based on paradigms?
If as an industry we are able to really change the narrative on overheads and reframe their function to demonstrate organisational effectiveness, then donors could easily see that diligently implemented outsourced programs are essential for ensuring the best return on their investment in your organisation.
In this way, transparency around overhead expenditure becomes even more of an ethical consideration driven by increased accountability for $ spent...and this is very good for the sector and the effectiveness of NFPs.
Congratulations to the steering committee and consortium members for this work – our name is added 😊

Do you work in Corporate Fundraising? Would you like access to powerful partnerships strategies, as well as individual coaching to help you apply them and grow fundraising income?
Our flagship Corporate Partnerships Mastery Programme starts again in April. The masterclasses and individual coaching support are designed to help you grow your confidence, skills and results in 2024 (and beyond).
Here are the results that Adan Freeman, Partnerships Manager ‑ New Business at Movember, told us he achieved:
"I found the strategies and support I got from the Corporate Mastery Programme really useful. It’s so helpful to get access to practical ways of solving so many things that make corporate fundraising difficult. And it works! For instance, I was able to apply these ways of working in my new job and within 6 months I’d won four valuable partnerships. One of them is worth over £100k, with potential to grow further. These strategies are really effective."

Check out this webinar with my colleague and friend, Karin George with the CEO of Givzey Adam Martel on the "The Strategic Benefits of Great Gift Documentation" - a great conversation to listen in and learn from!
We had THE BEST hour yesterday having an insightful, inspiring and engaging conversation about the core of associations - membership.
We spoke about what engagement looks (or feels like) and how we measure it, why diversity, equity & inclusion is important, whether membership is still a thing (spoiler - it is) and how we attract and engage our 'future members'.
A few brief takeaways from our conversation:
"Engagement is not what we think – it’s what the member thinks" (Craig Young, CAE
"Membership is a transfer of value. We draw on the contribution of our members, we get a contribution, and that contribution actually drives our capacity to deliver" (Graham Catt)
"We can't grow and remain relevant if we don't have different voices at the table and different voices in our associations" (Kerrie Green (Lucas))
"When in doubt - ask your members (and not just your current members) and you can't go wrong" (Donna South)
A big shout-out and thank you to our panel members for their contributions.

People who know my background, know that I came from the market and field research space. One of the areas that was always lacking was B2B market research, wherein businesses want to talk to other business leaders about their experiences with products and services. Wynter is unique in doing that, and they are compensating leaders for their insights. For those in my network, consider joining Wynter's participant panel and lending your expertise for 20 minutes or an hour to other businesses who want to know what you think. https://lnkd.in/exdZmYNY
Teaming up with other NFP’s could be your next step to maximise your impact for your cause.
Complementary partnerships between different NFP’s could be the answer to making the most out of your property and services. By working with likeminded charities, you can drive more change within your communities.
Monique Reynolds, CEO of Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT), has over 10 years’ experience managing boards and committees. Along with Mike Christensen, Non-Executive Director and board chair, Finance, Risk and Audit of Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) and an expert in identifying and managing risks and opportunities, they will join us at our next NFP Round Table session on the 19th of June to talk about complementary partnerships along with a multitude of other topics.

Throwback to last Thursday - the EBMA's! It feels like ages ago, doesn't it? We scrubbed up nicely, put on our party shoes, and headed to London for a night of celebrating the best of the best in our industry. And let me tell you, it was a night for us! Jewish Care scooped up the Gold for Best Employer Brand by a Charity/Not-for-Profit, and a shiny Silver for Best Employer Brand Management in Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals. 🎉
Not to be outdone, our Osborne Clarke collaboration snagged the Gold for Best Employer Brand Management in Professional Services! What's really cool about these wins is how different these two sectors are. Jewish Care is all about heart and community - healthcare and charity work that makes a real difference in people's lives. Their brand attracts people who want more than a paycheck, they want a calling. Osborne Clarke, on the other hand, is a law firm shaking things up in the professional services world with innovation and teamwork. Their brand is a magnet for top legal eagles looking for cutting-edge challenges. Winning in both shows we're pretty good at understanding what makes each sector tick.
Now, let's talk big picture. With 39 categories and over 120 awards, it was raining trophies! 🏆 It was obvious that everyone had their eyes on those Golds. Don't get me wrong, all the work recognised was fantastic. But I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking we need a chat about the sheer number of awards, and how we keep that Gold standard golden. After all, the truly exceptional work deserves to shine brightest! #WeLove9am#EmployerBranding#Awards
It really was an amazing night, wasn't it Metrick Consultancy! Congratulations to Chloe Raistrick for her well-deserved recognition! 🙌
