Did you know malathion, found in many insecticides, could be lurking on your favorite fruits and veggies? 🍇🥬 While considered low in toxicity, long-term exposure might up your cancer risk. Stay in the know about maximum residue limits set by regulatory agencies worldwide. For the detection of malathion on fruit and vegetable surfaces, SERS is an acceptable technique. For trace detection of food adulterants, Misa (Metrohm Instant SERS Analyzer) requires minimal laboratory chemicals and consumables, while offering a user-friendly interface and minimal laboratory chemicals. We got acquainted with microbial contamination On the Test for pasteurized milk quality...👀🥛 This test is based on the ability of microorganisms to secret phosphate enzyme, so presence of phosphate enzyme is indicated for presence of contamination This test includes 4 tubes , 3 contain different types of milk ( raw, boiled, pasteurized) and reagents ( buffer 10+chloroform) The 4th tube contain raw milk only used As control can be used to measured by it Tube 1(pasteurized milk ) ➡️ give white colour ⚪, this indicated that it is free from contamination (Good pasteurized 👌) Tube 2(raw milk ) ➡️ give dark blue 🔵 , because it has great amount of phosphate enzyme, so it contaminated. Tube 3 (boiling milk) ➡️ give blue colour but less than tube 2 , As it contain amount of phosphate enzyme but lower than raw milk. So, if the milk is pasteurized good enough will give white colour, and if not pasteurized good enough will give blue colour and It is recognized as contaminated By Bodoor Reda ♥️

🌱🔬 Ensuring the Safety of Plant Extract Supplements: The Battle Against Ethylene Oxide 🔬🌱 The past few years, Europe saw several recalls of plant extract supplements due to ethylene oxide (EO) contamination. EO, a known carcinogen and mutagen, is banned in the EU but is still used in some non-EU countries for food sterilization. This incident raised serious health concerns and highlighted the need for stringent safety measures. 💡 How can HerbMountain control EO in plant extract production? 💡 🌿 Raw Material Selection & Supply Chain Management: Opt for EO-free raw materials. Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with EO-free standards. ⚙️ Process Controls: Use high-temperature treatments and advanced filtration methods. Maintain a clean production environment to prevent contamination. 🧪 Testing & Monitoring: Perform regular and batch-specific EO residue testing using sensitive methods like GC-MS. Ensure compliance with EU regulations and safety standards. 📜 Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to EU food safety laws and REACH regulations. Implement Good Manufacturing Practices to minimize risks. 👩🏫 Employee Training: Train staff on EO hazards and control measures. Establish and follow detailed operational protocols. By integrating these strategies, we can significantly mitigate the risk of EO contamination, ensuring the safety and quality of plant extract. 🔗 Stay informed and compliant to protect consumer health and maintain market trust. #FoodSafety #PlantExtracts #QualityControl #EthyleneOxide #HealthFirst #SupplementSafety #EURegulations

🌾 T2/HT2 reduction in Oats 🌾 Regulatory bodies are increasingly stringent when it comes to mycotoxin levels in food products. Processors face the pressure of meeting the thresholds of ever-changing regulations. From July 1st, 2024, the European Union introduced stricter regulations for the mycotoxin, DON, in cereals and cereal products. The change brought new maximum levels to certain product groups. Click this link (https://lnkd.in/et5M_KjV) to see the new Maximum levels (sum) of T-2 and HT-2 toxins. New advancements in optical sorting can help processors remove these invisible threats. See below another great result of SORTEX in providing T2/HT2 reduction in Oats. 📈 Input is high in T2/HT2 (163ppb) and Accept is within new specs. Reject is highly concentrated with T2/HT2. Please reach out to book a trial. #T2HT2 #Mycotoxin #Oats #GrainCleaning #SORTEX

Are you struggling with uneven contaminant distribution and the accuracy of mycotoxin testing? 👉A proper homogenization can save your batch! Imagine your batch gets rejected because of high readings from #hotspots. Large sample sizes, often up to 10 kg, make good homogenization incredibly challenging! Let's have a look at ergot alkaloids in wheat: Situation 1: - Wheat sample analysis detects 987 µg/kg ergot alkaloids - Far exceeding the 100 µg/kg maximum limit ⚡⚡Risking costly batch rejection The guilty? Improper sample homogenization, common with large volumes and dry mixing methods. Situation 2: Slurry mixing 💡 - The same wheat sample analysis with #slurry mixing delivers new results: detects only 70 µg/kg - Falls within the 100 µg/kg maximum limit ↳Compliance with legislation ↳ Avoiding unnecessary rejection and production disruptions ↳Fewer retests and less wasted product Slurry mixing creates a homogeneous slurry, ensuring even distribution of contaminants. Resulting in a significant reduction of subsampling errors and the risk of false positives. ✅✅ Saving you from financial losses! 👉Discover how our commitment to quality and cost-effectiveness can support your regulatory compliance: https://lnkd.in/eD38vWpR #FoodSafety #MycotoxinTesting #Homogenization #FoodIndustry #CostEfficiency
