Simops If you are not sure how this could effect you in your chemical processing facilities check out this video from the US Chemical Safety Board https://lnkd.in/gEjEqp5g It is a good reminder to carefully evaluate the "what if" possibilities when planning activities that involve multiple crews working shutdown situations. It also highlights the need for energy isolation, emergency planning and egress. The CSB does a good job of communicating the results from actual incident investigations through simulations for training purposes.

ASTM D1500 is a standard test method for measuring the color of petroleum products and lubricants. External coatings not only defend against atmospheric corrosion but also shield against mechanical damage. While internal protective coatings establish an effective barrier between the bare metallic substrate and the pressurized fluid within, ensuring corrosion resistance. In addition, these internal coatings are currently being considered as a robust defense against the diffusion of monoatomic hydrogen during hydrogen transportation or storage. In order to simulate real-world scenarios, specialized testing environments such as autoclaves and pressurized atlas cells are employed. These controlled settings meticulously replicate the conditions encountered in field operations, subjecting coatings to high pressures and corrosive agents. Through such simulations, the performance of the coatings is rigorously assessed, illuminating phenomena such as the cold-wall effect. This underscores the proficiency of the coating in safeguarding equipment even in the most challenging circumstances. In essence, the implementation of protective coatings assumes a key role in fortifying pressure equipment, offering a dual shield against both corrosion and mechanical stress.
