The pursuit of profits at the expense of people negates the purpose of a business. Replacing people with robots nullifies the raison d'être of business: to serve people. A business exists within a society, not apart from it. When companies prioritize automation over employment, they erode the very foundation that supports them: the consumer base. Robots don’t buy products, pay taxes, or contribute to the broader economy. They don’t need housing, education, or healthcare. By sidelining human labor in favor of machines, businesses risk creating a future where they produce goods that few can afford to buy. Innovation should enhance human lives, not render people obsolete. True progress lies in creating systems where technology works alongside people, improving productivity and quality of life without displacing entire communities. A business that sacrifices its social responsibility for efficiency ultimately sacrifices its long-term viability. Serving people isn’t just ethical—it’s essential for survival.
