Electric Propulsion is clean sustainable and silent, thanks to the technological advancements that keep being upgraded and make the use of electric systems technically and economically feasible. POWER PLANT Our Electric Power is produced by a full-fledged power plant installed on board, made of Gas and Steam Turbines that produce Zero Methane Slip. Our Gas Turbines use LNG as main fuel, but the same Turbines can be re-adapted to LPG, Ammonia, Methanol, and even Hydrogen if required. Their installations occupy a reduced space in the engine room: they can be staged on platforms, in and even out of the engine room. They require a minimal lubrication and maintenance, with less people employed for maintenance and repairs, and without spare parts stock and store and workshop. Turbines Engines are Emission Class III and American EP4 rules compliant at all times and in all modes. With our Electric Propulsion, and in addition to the recoveries made other added saving devices, we are reaching the following estimates to the consumption of the power plant: 12 knots @ 15-20 tons LNG daily sailing 15.5 knots @ 20-25 tons LNG daily sailing 16.5 knots @ 25-30 tons LNG daily sailing GREEN CONDITION / CARBON CREDITS My estimates are that based on today’s values and estimates (E.&.O.E), the usage of our GREEN ship (with an estimated time life of about 40 years) could potentially earn about 100/120000 mts CO2 credits a year, valued today at USD 3-5 M. Instead of a drastic change in the engineering conception of the propulsion, all attempts nowadays are being made to change the fuels feeding on the existing outdated and inefficient and polluting engineering, and that is wrong. While moving from the marine diesel engines, to the diesel-electric systems, to turbines, to thermonuclear propulsion, LNG (and at a certain extend LPG too) should be the sole choice of fuel change for the first three stages, nothing else. Everything else in the alternative energy fuel categories, should be relegated to the improvement of the safe and healthy and plentiful planet food supply, and forestation growth, and not to be used for industrial and mobility energy. Natural energy on our planet is provided by natural elements, the sun and the wind. While wind energy is not workable at all levels, sun energy is; and thermonuclear energy would be its perfect man made duplicate. But it needs to be rendered practical and economical.
