#politics #unitedstates #NobelPrize The city of Philadelphia, the birthplace of the Constitution, is hosting the only debate of the critical 2024 general election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Both political parties, representing antipodal political views, Harris on the far left and Trump on the far right have raised serious and unacceptable concerns about the political viability of the founding documents of the United States, Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Philadelphia is named after the Greek words "phílos" (meaning "love" or "friendship") and "adelphós" (meaning "brother"). Combined, the name means "City of Brotherly Love." The city was founded in 1682 by William Penn, an English Quaker, after whom the state of Pennsylvania, a key swing state in this election, is named, who chose the name as part of his vision to create a place where people of different religious beliefs could live together in harmony. Penn's naming of Philadelphia reflected his desire for the city to embody principles of tolerance, peace, and unity, which were central to Quaker beliefs. Benjamin Franklin played a pivotal role in the history of Philadelphia, where he lived for much of his life after moving there in 1723. In Philadelphia, Franklin became a successful printer, publishing the "Pennsylvania Gazette" and "Poor Richard's Almanack," which brought him wealth and fame. Franklin was a prominent figure contributing to the drafting of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, both of which were discussed and signed in Philadelphia. His experiments with electricity and inventions, like the lightning rod, solidified his legacy as a leading scientist and inventor both in Europe and in America. The upcoming debate scheduled for September 10, 2024, will be organized by ABC News. The event will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia and will be moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis. This is the first of the planned debates between Harris and Trump for the 2024 presidential election. The venue, National Constitution Center (NCC) in Philadelphia, is an important institution dedicated to the U.S. Constitution and American civic education. It was established by the Constitution Heritage Act of 1988. Located on Independence Mall, just steps away from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, the NCC serves as both a museum and an educational hub. The Constitution Heritage Act of 1988 was a federal law enacted by the U.S. Congress to create the National Constitution Center (NCC) in Philadelphia. The primary goal of the act was to establish a museum and an educational center dedicated to promoting public understanding of the U.S. Constitution. Signed into law by President Ronald Reagan, this act represented an effort to enhance civic education and encourage public engagement with constitutional principles. "Read Kamala Harris (D) v. The challenges we face as Latinas make us stronger! The stereotype types still exist, further providing the opportunity to educate others, and advocate. A few examples I've encountered during interviews: 1. We were expecting an Asian for the interview, but we noticed you are from a different ethnicity. 2. Will you be having or expecting any kids soon? 3. Please do not share your age as leading a department at a young age. Comments shared with me after an interview by panel members... They knew you were the ideal candidate for this role, but your confidence intimidated the leader. The stories go on... The main point is we as Latinas should be viewed for what value we bring to the table versus the race we represent. Your level of intellect is great, you have the right skills, but... Yes, our culture is part of who we are, but that doesn't define the aptitude, skills, and talent we bring to the table. I hope soon, we as leaders, start landing higher leadership roles and are respected for our talents, we as a society need to set examples for the next generation. I hope these barriers, I have faced as a first-generation college graduate, navigating the professional world in a way solo, are less of a burden to the next generation, especially my talented Latina daughters. #LatinasLead #womenshistorymonth #womenempoweringwomen
Latinas have traveled to outer space and sit on the U.S. Supreme Court. They have led movements and are among the groundbreakers shaping each generation. We collectively inherit their leadership. #LatinasLead #WomensHistoryMonth Pictured: Sonia Sotomayor, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court

Powerful video - reject the division and vote policies. - Dear Kamala Harris, The vast majority of American men have no issue with electing a female president, our issue lies solely with you. - Your reputation precedes you, defined by a relentless pursuit of power, from your tenure as California’s attorney general to the present day. - Your track record presents concerns that we cannot overlook. You are simply a risk we are not willing to take. MAHA - Make America Healthy Again! How long before the haters brand this as fascist and NAZI - ha ha? You have to vote and vote early! Vote policies, not party ... or hate, or division, or conspiracy theories.

https://lnkd.in/da5uN-YR ANOTHER GLASS CEILING SMASHED One small step, for a President who has always surrounded himself with strong female leadership; one huge leap for women everywhere. In any field. And just look at the adjectives used - or not used - by President Trump to describe Ms. Wiles: "tough, smart, innovative... universally admired and respected." Don't we all aspire to such a reputation? Not mentioned: race or skin color. No one is excluded or selected because of race. As a white female, in DC metro, I am so encouraged. Finally, I am not locked out of key senior roles because I am white. Or conservative. If there are 100 choice appointments, non-black applicants are not locked out. Encouragement For All of Us - We can all learn from Susie's strategy skills - she led a major turn-around that this time last year seemed impossible, in a campaign that would make a great Harvard Business Review strategy case study. And we can all be inspired and encouraged, if we are facing or have been hurt by injustice, public corruption, or hostility from people or institutions that do not even know us, but dislike us for challenging their views. Or for being who we are. Ms Wiles and President Trump achieved an amazing landslide in the face of stigma, superior funding, hostile media, and injustice. In Maryland, the court failed to dismiss an illegal case against President Trump - in which the pleading lacked Article III standing, so that there was no legal "case or controversy" under the Constitution. A common error by Maryland and Virginia courts - states refusing to obey Federal Preemption or the Supremacy Clause - that now is expected to be addressed under a new US Attorney General. Helping many. #Trump #doj

Another Congressional shot across the bow of private equity—interesting to see PE political contributions starting to rebalance with more funds being directed to the R side—PE seems to have been surprised about how deep seated some of the D antagonism has proven. #privateequity #hospitals #hospitalmanagement #election2024
I don't always agree with Elizabeth Warren, but when I do, she says this: "You owe Congress and the public answers, and an explanation for your actions."

#SpeakerJohnson calls these the 7 Core Principles of conservatism. I call them them the 7 standards every politician must stand for is America is to survive. Sure, my title is longer, but I use these daily to measure every politician from school boards to the White House. Measure your politicians, if they are NOT acting accordingly, you, as an elector, must take action to remove them! https://lnkd.in/gVX7xmns
