Can we talk about how managers make or break the work environment? 📌 When I started working at 16: I became conditioned to work through sick days. My managers made me feel bad for requesting off. I never asked questions because my managers made me feel incompetent when I did. 📌When I started my full-time job: I lost my professional confidence because I was heavily micromanaged. I’d get anxiety on Sundays because it meant another week of turning in deliverable after deliverable without ever hearing a "Thank You!" 📌 When I finally got a good manager: ✅ I am extremely confident b/c she gives my challenging tasks & encourages me to follow my gut ✅ I can be transparent about when I'm sick or simply having a bad day ✅ I ask the craziest questions because it's encouraged ✅She seeks my opinion and my ideas are valued ✅ I work independently because she trusts me to deliver Sundays no longer mean anxiety for me. Instead, I feel energized for the next week because I feel seen, heard, and valued. P.S If you're wondering who my amazing manager is, give all the kudos to Bree Ryback #goodleadership #managerialskills #leadership
I absolutely love this Mia Williams . What I love most is now that you have seen and felt the effects of bad/great leadership, you're going to be a great leader yourself and pay it forward. Kudos to you Bree Ryback for showing how it's done
Wonderful post! I echo all the sentiments shared Bree Ryback is truly THEEE BEST!
This is love! I am also under the management of Bree Ryback in a different capacity and she is every letter of every word you mention above and I echo your recognition. She is an awesome example of true leadership and women empowerment!
Amazing reflection. It is truly as you explained. I enjoyed reading your post! Kudos to you Manager!
This is the epitome of a great leader. A leader encourages, holds your hand through the challenges, empowers you to be the best version of yourself and allows you to fail and get back up again.
Such a great post!
Love this shout out! It is incredible working with both of you!
Your manager can make or break your experience. And the effects can be long lasting. The experiences you've had have made you a stronger and more compassionate person which will help you grow so much in the coming years. You're lucky to work with one of the best Leaders I've ever worked with! Bree is great!
Well geez am I absolutely touched by this shoutout. I know I've experienced a lot of your experiences too and I really try to not replicate the bad/unsupportive things that were given to me ... I love being a manager and nothing makes me happier than watching my teams SOAR and be happy and come to work 100% as they are. Thank you Mia Williams <3
