If you can improve one thing in your business strategy, it should be your diet. Yep, diet! We’ve all heard the saying, “You are what you eat,” and for entrepreneurs, it couldn’t be more true. Hustling day in and day out, grabbing quick snacks, and eating meals at odd hours have become the norm for many. And sure, it makes sense—there’s always so much on your plate and never enough time! But have you ever stopped to consider that neglecting your diet might be hurting your productivity more than helping? Food has a direct impact on cognitive function. Every unhealthy choice you make to "save time" can actually lead to lost productivity and lower performance in the long run. So, what can you do? 👉Keep healthy snacks like almonds and nuts nearby to make smart choices easy. 👉Plan your meals ahead of time to avoid impulsive, unhealthy decisions when hunger strikes. 👉And most importantly, add more fruits and vegetables to your diet—they’ve been proven to boost creativity, engagement, and mood! While a healthy diet may not seem like a typical part of your business strategy, those who are truly committed to peak performance know that it's indispensable to their success. P.S. Being in the FMCG industry for years, I can say businesses too play a significant role in shaping food culture. One of the key reasons our customers keep coming back is they trust the quality of our products. In an industry that is growing inclined to manufacture completely neglecting the health aspect of the consumers, that is some food for thought! What are your thoughts? Do you pay attention to what you eat? #healthiswealth #foodculture #entrepreneurlifestyle

🍏 Wellness Tip Tuesday: Today, let's focus on mindful eating. As an entrepreneur, I know what it feels like to work through meals and wonder at the end of the day, have I eaten or what have I eaten. Generally, there is a temptation to grab for something quick and easy, which may equal to JUNK FOOD. Ugh! So let's be intentional with the eating part. Plan to consume healthy foods that add to your effectiveness and efficiency. Choose wisely. Then take the time to savor each bite, chew slowly, and truly appreciate the flavors and textures. This means no digital devices or working as you eat. Step away from the phone and the computers. Mindful eating can improve your digestion, reduce overeating, and enhance your enjoyment of food, not to mention the quality and enjoyment of life. How are you making time to nourish yourself as you build your business? Generally speaking, we often forget to drink enough water or allow ourselves access to fresh water regularly. Unfortunately, this dehydration can make us move slower, feel less energized, and just gets in the way of allowing our bodies to function as they need to. Challenge yourself to drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up, like while your coffee is brewing, to jumpstart your body after it’s been fasting from liquids all night. Then, throughout the day, keep freshwater within reach. This might mean investing in a pretty water bottle that you’re proud to sport on your desk and walk around with all day. If plain water doesn’t feel exciting enough, try adding lemon juice, cucumber slices, fresh aloe vera juice, fresh mint, or any combination of citrus, berries, and herbs. Alternatively, you might try brewing some weak tea to sip on throughout the day for a little added flavor. As you take care of yourself so that you can serve others, would you like to continue to grow as an impactful person, loved by people around you? Here's what grabbed me about this interview. Mark A. Samuel talks about his own #mentalhealth challenges, and how he uses food and exercise to keep things in check. And as you listen to more and more candid, open interviews with business leaders, you hear them talk about mental health challenges. Apparently, we all have them. There is perhaps no one who has not grappled with mental health issues, large scale stress, major obstacles at some point. And many of the people who are successfully managing to manage those struggles are doing so by eating well, moving more, drinking less. That's what caught my attention - the pervasiveness and universality of mental health struggles, and the common story that better nutrition and more movement have helped. And here's what I take from that: 1. Be kind. Everyone is going through something. 2. Be open. Everyone can show empathy for what you're going through. 3. Real whole foods help, whereas ultra-processed "Consumer Packaged Goods" do not. 4. Exercise helps. Walk the block or run a marathon; lift weights or stretch your limbs; whatever you do, do something. Thank you, Jonathan Shooshani for bringing these great conversations out. #kindness #realfoodnutrition #foodasmedicine #exercise #movement #ultraprocessed
On this episode of WellBuilt, I spoke to Mark A. Samuel, Founder of IWON Organics and President of Unbun Foods, about navigating health, family, and entrepreneurship in the better-for-you food space. Mark shared his 22-year journey across various industries, eventually finding his niche in health-conscious CPG brands. He reflected on growing IWON Organics into a recognizable name in the healthy snack market and discussed his recent transition to Unbun Foods, where he is leading a brand refresh and preparing for innovative new product launches. Mark also discussed his 80/20 approach to nutrition, emphasizing the importance of building a healthy relationship with food by balancing discipline and enjoyment. He highlighted how discipline, rather than fleeting motivation, has been a cornerstone of his personal and professional success. Mark also opened up about navigating mental health challenges and how exercise and making consistent, health-conscious choices have been essential to his well-being. We also delved into the evolving expectations of health-conscious consumers and his perspective on the notion of a "balanced lifestyle". Mark’s candid insights on building resilience, prioritizing health, and the realities of parenting offer valuable lessons for anyone looking to thrive in both life and business. Make sure to follow Mark on LinkedIn for fresh and funny insights into health, fitness, life, and of course, chipotle :) #discipline #cpg #health #employeewellness #gym #fitness #nutrition #entrepreneurship

🗣️ If you want a popular product in your market, you need to know what drives it. Otherwise, you’ll lose money… For example, Carbliss is in CPG or the consumer packaged goods market. The three main drivers of this market are: ● Premiumization ● Convenience ● Wellness Knowing this, we tailored Carbliss to fit and improve on these three categories. Here’s how we did it: ➡️ Premiumization doesn’t necessarily mean more expensive. It’s more about the value you deliver with each purchase. We looked at what's out there and decided we could do better. Our drinks? They pack full flavor without the baggage of extra sugar or carbs. It's like enjoying your favorite cocktail – without any next-day regrets. ➡️ Convenience was easy for us. We thought, who's got the time to play bartender after a long day? Carbliss comes in a can – it's grab-and-go with no mixing or extra ingredients needed. It's your favorite bar-quality cocktail you can enjoy anywhere – from the beach to your buddy's backyard BBQ. ➡️ Now, wellness was tricky. We can’t claim to be healthy, nor would we being alcohol, and we have seen many people transition wellness into their drinking life, and it is a large part of the decision for them when they look at the nutrition panel. 🍍 Carbliss hits the sweet spot. Zero carbs, zero sugar, and all the flavor with a subtle bar cocktail amount of carbonation. 🎉 It's a game-changer for anyone trying to maintain their wellness regimen without sacrificing the joy of a good drink. 🎉 Following these three main industry drivers has helped us steadily grow. If you want to experience the same, find out your market's main drivers and work on filling that need or improving on what’s already available. #rtd #rtdcocktails #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship #veteranowned

Decision-making is synonymous to prioritization & trade-offs: Running a business = trade-off with some portion of leisure time & social engagements; Accepting promotions & monetary growth = prioritizing higher responsibility, time & risk; Consciously eating healthy = trade-off with your taste buds & that rush of dopamine. and the list goes on ... Decisions are ultimately always a result of our own priorities at that time. #consciousentrepreneur #decisionmaking
