Water safety is essential for the wellbeing of Miami-Dade’s youth, yet drowning remains the leading cause of accidental death among young children in Florida. Miami-Dade Parks’ Learn2Swim program was created to address this, offering children the skills they need to stay safe in the water while fostering confidence and resilience. With every donation on Give Miami Day, you’re contributing directly to the health and fitness of our community. You’re empowering kids to embrace water safety and supporting our commitment to long-term health and wellness for Miami’s future. 🌟 Bring Hope This Winter: Support Those in Need 🌟 As we approach the festive season, it’s important to remember those in our community who are facing severe challenges. At SCCYC, we support individuals and families residing in the lowest 1%-10% brackets for multiple deprivation—those battling severe poverty, mental and physical health issues, isolation, and migration challenges. This winter, you can help make a difference. By donating, you can bring warmth, hope, and joy to those who need it most during this difficult time. Here’s how you can contribute: 🎁 Christmas donations: Gifts, food, and essentials for families and individuals in need. 🧣 Winter donations: Warm clothing, blankets, and toiletries to help those struggling through the colder months. 🍽 Food aid: Non-perishable vegetarian food items or financial contributions to ensure no one goes hungry. 📍 Donations can be dropped off at SCCYC Waterside Connect, or you can support us through our online platform. I was listening to an NPR Life Kit tonight about Giving Tuesday - they were trying to help people figure out how to make charitable gifts. 1) Think about things you care about. 2) Write down a list of organizations that are working to make that happen, and 3) Make a budget. (And make a donation!) It's not bad advice. It's a little dry and passionless for my taste - but in some ways, I hope you do this today/Tuesday. I hope you think about what you want your community to look like for *everyone* and think about your budget and give what you can give. Today/Tuesday is a great day to do it because a lot of non-profits are hoping you will, but really any day is a good day to give. I've worked at WayForward Resources for 23 years come January. It's a good organization that is very responsibly operated and managed, with the best of the people you've ever known working and volunteering and teaming together to create that better world. Follow along with our GivingTuesday Block Party all day long. If nothing else, please share a post or two. Give a few (or more) dollars if you can. Make the world better for someone today. As one of the equally busiest food pantries in our community, and one of the only organizations in Dane County providing housing case management, eviction prevention funds, and a doubled-up housing program, your donation during this will increase our impact, helping us provide food, housing, and hope to our community. #buildtogether

ASG HOPE & HEAL FOUNDATION: Share a Meal, Spread the Smile On a chilly winter evening, a young boy named Aarav sat on the sidewalk, clutching his stomach in hunger. The bustling city around him seemed to care little for his plight. One day, a warm hand reached out with a hot, wholesome meal. It wasn’t just food; it was a symbol of hope. Aarav’s smile that day became a powerful reminder that even small acts of kindness can light up lives. This is the mission of ASG Hope And Heal Foundation —to bridge the gap between hunger and hope through their campaign, Share a Meal, Spread the Smile. Every meal donated is more than sustenance; it’s a message that someone cares. Through community kitchens, food distribution drives, and partnerships, the foundation has touched countless lives, ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry. You can be a part of this change—join hands with ASG to make every smile brighter. FOR DONATION : https://lnkd.in/gFYhvNXv Key Highlights: Serving hot meals to underprivileged communities. Supporting families, children, and the elderly. Encouraging community participation. #shareameal #spreadthesmile #hopeandheal #endhunger #foodforchange #actofkindness #feedthehungry #bethechange #communitylove #smallstepsbigimpact

Teaching Kids the Value of Giving This Halloween 🎃 At growing gift, we know that Halloween isn’t just about collecting treats—it’s also a perfect time to teach kids about the joy of giving. Involving your children in acts of kindness during Halloween can foster a spirit of generosity and empathy that will last far beyond the spooky season. Here are a few ways you can focus on giving with your little ones: Share the Wealth: Encourage your kids to set aside some of their Halloween candy to share with friends, neighbors, or donate to local charities. Treats for Others: Together, create small treat bags or notes for family, neighbors, or community helpers (like postal workers or teachers) to brighten their day. Support a Cause: If your neighborhood offers a "Teal Pumpkin" initiative or a similar allergy-safe or charitable option, involve your child in choosing and offering inclusive treats to others. Through these simple actions, you’re helping your child understand that giving is just as sweet as receiving. Let’s use this Halloween as a chance to build values that last a lifetime! 🍬💖 #GrowingGift #TeachingGenerosity #FamilyValues #FinancialLiteracy

💡 From Pop Tabs to Soup Cans: Small Actions, Big Impact! 💡 Did you know that saving aluminum pop tabs—and even the tabs from soup cans—has been a beloved way to support Ronald McDonald House Charities for decades? This simple idea started years ago and has grown into a powerful tradition of community giving. How does it work? Those little tabs are made of high-quality aluminum, which we collect and recycle. The funds raised help provide a home-away-from-home for families with hospitalized children, ensuring they can stay close during critical times. Why it matters: ♻️️ Tabs are small but mighty—they’re easy to collect and store! ♻️️ It’s a fun and meaningful way to engage your family, workplace, or school. ♻️ Every tab adds up to provide comfort and care for families when they need it most. Ready to get started? Find a container or ask me for one of our RMHC little collection houses! These handy containers make it easy to gather tabs and turn them into meaningful support. From soda cans to soup cans, every tab makes a difference.
