For a recent client, we tailored these handles in RAL 7016 to perfectly match their frame colors. This took 3 processes: 1️⃣ Aluminium Knurling Aluminum knurling is a manufacturing process that impresses precise patterns into aluminum surfaces, enhancing grip and aesthetics. Originally developed for industries like aerospace and automotive, it improves handling comfort and durability. Today, it's widely used in consumer products such as door handles and tools for its functional benefits. 2️⃣ Anodizing Anodizing is an electrochemical process that enhances the surface of metals like aluminum. It forms a protective oxide layer, increasing corrosion resistance and durability. During anodizing, the metal surface can be dyed to achieve various colors, including black, bronze, gold, and clear (silver-like), among others. These colors are achieved by absorbing dyes into the porous oxide layer. 3️⃣ Powder Coating Powder coating is a dry finishing process where a fine powder of pigment and resin is sprayed onto a metal surface. It adheres electrostatically and is cured in an oven to form a durable, protective layer. It offers excellent resistance to corrosion, UV rays, and chemicals, and comes in a wide range of colors and finishes. Commonly used in applications from household appliances to architectural components.

How is Foam Laminated? There are two primary ways foam is laminated: through adhesive lamination and heat lamination. Adhesive lamination is exactly what it sounds like - it’s when an adhesive is applied to the surface of your foam part to laminate it. This can be done through pressure-sensitive adhesives or heat. Heat lamination bonds two foams together - in this process, the two are put through a machine together and fused through heat. Why Would You Laminate Foam? Now on to the part that most people care about: why would you laminate foam? Typically, it’s for one of two reasons (or both): to make it perform better or look better. Because foam lamination allows you to combine multiple materials together, you can tap into the advantages of that other material. For example, you might laminate a piece of foam to help improve its ability to repel moisture.
