The way every company is jumping on the EV bandwagon, I believe this is one of the biggest fads in the world right now. Manufacturing an electric vehicle isn’t just about installing a battery and putting a car on the road. It requires advanced engineering and specialized knowledge. I'm not sure how many of these companies truly possess the expertise to produce vehicles that are sustainable, engineered to last, and genuinely reliable for the long term. That’s why I feel this EV craze might be just a temporary trend. I could be completely wrong, but it seems like a lot of companies rushing into EV manufacturing is a sign of market euphoria. It reminds me of the 2008 power plant investment boom, where everyone was rushing into the sector. We all know how that turned out and the strain it placed on the banking system. I fear we’re heading down a similar path with EVs. Whether these companies succeed or fail, and whether this leads to a surge in non-performing assets (NPAs), remains to be seen. However, one thing is clear: the rush to produce EVs will likely lead to overcapacity, which could ultimately harm the industry as a whole. #EV #Automotive Menaka Doshi Ira Dugal Neil Borate
